It's okay

Toshinori couldn't breath, he couldnt move or.. anything. His whole body was numb. The only thing running through his head were the words 'time of death, 7:45 PM.'

"Sir?" A soft voice called as an older woman knelt before him. He blinked several times before looking into her soft gray eyes. "W-would you like to say goodbye?" She asks him, her own eyes filled with tears as she watched him crash and burn. He can only nod, his voice failing him completely. She takes his hand and helps him stand slowly. He follows behind her slowly.

The whole crash code team stands off to the side watching carefully. This is the part they hate most about their jobs. Watching him break down before his dead wife. watching him loose one of the most important things to him. It hurts them all as if they were in his place.

"Let me turn that off for you.." The nurse whispers as she moves towards the heart monitor.

"What do you think is taking dad so long?" Hisoka asks as he clings to Katsukis hand, watching everyone move through the hospital.

Tom stood off to the side wondering the same thing. He hasn't arrived until just a little bit before. It had taken him what seemed like forever to get there. He was on a special assignment when he got the call from his son-in-law. He had nearly crashed the car he was driving at the time.

"Give him time Soka." Katsuki tells him quietly.

"He'll be out soon." Tom agrees quietly.

"This has to be hard on him.." Rogue adds as he leans against the wall waiting for Toshinori.

"It's hard on all of us." Sting agrees.

"But it's different for him. She's the love of his life. She's..." Rogue looks away with a frown.

"They found some donors so it's only a matter of time before they bring her back into the OR. She'll be fine." Katsuki hisses at them as he lifts Hisoka into his arms. The small child's  lips trembles as he clings to his brother.

Both Sting and Rogue flinch and look down. "Of course she will." Sting says before pulling Rogue over to their brothers.

Before the nurse can turn off the heart monitor it beeps. Once, twice, then stops again for a few seconds. Everyone in the room is dumbfounded, eyes wide. It beeps again and again.

"She's.. Move! Stabilize her! then get her into surgery. We need to get that chunk out before it causes any more problems!" The head of the crash team yells and he moves forward.

Toshinori wasn't sure he could take much more. He wasn't sure he could survive another episode like that. Was this how Ren felt when he was hurt after his fight with All For One? After she lost their first child? How did she survive this pain, this fear and.. guilt..

He shakes his head and moves towards their kids. He's cried, he's had a few moments to be weak, now he needs to be strong. He sets his hand on Katsukis shoulder once he reaches the boys side.

"How's mom? Can we see her now." Hisoka asked in a quiet tone.

Toshinori looked at Aizawl before looking back at his youngest son. "You can't see her yet." He speaks in a soft tone as to not upset the boy. "They had to send her back into surgery to get the part of the knife that's still in her out."

"I thought they were going to wait until she was stable and they had enough blood?" Rogue moves closer to them.

"They couldn't. She flatlined again and.. they think the metal of the knife is poisoning her blood." Toshinori looks them all over. "But I'm sure she will be fine."
