Shawn’s POV

“Cameron, I need your help,” I said into the phone as I paced around my house.

“What’s up?” Cameron asked.

“You know how in freshman year I told you I was gay?” I asked.

“Where are you going with this?” Cameron asked.

“Well…,” I started.

“You do not!” Cameron gasped, cutting me off.

“What?” I asked.

“Hate to do this but I’m not interested,” Cameron said.

“You somehow got the wrong idea. I don’t like you that way,” I said. “But there’s this guy that I met in a guitar shop.”

“Don’t tell me, you like him?” Cameron asked.

I blushed. “Yeah, I do,” I said.

“Well why are you talking to me about it?” Cameron asked.

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“You and your man crush seems like something you should talk about with a girl,” Cameron said.

“Is your girlfriend around?” I asked.

“No, sorry,” Cameron said.

“Alright, what would you do if I told you it was a girl instead of a guy?” I asked.

“So instead of saying that you met a guy, we’re pretending you met a girl?” Cameron asked.

I nodded before remembering that he couldn’t see me. “Yeah.”

“Depends on how long you’ve known this person,” Cameron said.

“Well, we’ve known of each other for a year and I’ve talked to him a bit in the last six months,” I said.

“Have you two done anything where it was just the two of you?” Cameron asked.

“Just today,” I said. “We went to a cafe to get hot chocolates and muffins.”

“Of course you got muffins,” Cameron said.

“Hey!” I shot.

“Nevermind,” Cameron chuckled. “So remind me why you called.”

“Because I need help making some moves,” I said.

“Compliment them, do stuff they like, play twenty questions,” Cameron said. “Heck, go on a walk with them, take them somewhere they’ll feel special.”

I grabbed a piece of paper and started scribbling Cameron’s suggestions down before I forgot them.

“Those sound good,” I said.

“And if you really want to pull them in, you have to do two major things,” Cameron said. “Don’t be awkward around this person, and buy them chocolate.”

I laughed. “You really think he’ll like the chocolate?”

“Who doesn’t like chocolate?” Cameron asked, he too beginning to laugh.

I wrote down the “two major things” that Cameron had said would “really pull them in” in all capital letters and circled them.

“Is that all you need?” Cameron asked.

“Yes, thank you,” I said.

“Talk to you later, Shawn,” Cameron said.

“Talk to you later, Cam,” I said before both Cameron and I ended the call.

I laid down on my bed and sighed while staring at the ceiling. Tomorrow’s going to be fun.
