Shawn’s POV

When we got to the Jeep, Niall hopped into the passenger seat and I simply got into the driver’s seat, having to duck my head as I did so.

“Niall, are you okay?” I asked, noticing that he was staring into the distance.

“Yeah,” Niall said, shaking his head seemingly to clear his thoughts.

“Alright, just making sure,” I said, putting the Jeep into drive.

As I was driving, I noticed Niall looking around my Jeep.

“What’s this?” he asked, grabbing a plastic bag off the floor.

“Uh, that’s some chocolate that I bought,” I said, wondering if I should tell him that the chocolate was for him.

“Nice,” Niall said, placing the bag back on the floor.

“Actually, I bought it for you,” I said.

I felt Niall look at me. “You bought it for me?” he asked.

“Yeah,” I said, feeling a slight blush spread across my face.

“How convenient, I actually bought you some chocolate too,” Niall said.

“You did?” I asked.

“Yeah, I had stopped at the store and thought about buying some for you,” Niall said.

“It’s nice that you thought about me,” I said. “I really appreciate it.”

Niall smiled at me as I turned right onto a road.

“So, how have you been lately?” Niall asked, sounding like he didn’t have anything else to talk about.

“I’ve been doing really good,” I said, looking at Niall from the corner of my eye.

“That’s good,” Niall said as I stopped at a light that had just turned red.

“What about you?” I asked, facing Niall, yet still keeping the light in my view.

“I’ve been good,” Niall said. “I got to see a couple of my mate’s kids.”

“Some of your mates are married?” I asked, interested.

“Yeah, Zayn and Liam are,” Niall said.

“Who are they married to?” I asked, seeing the light turn green.

“They are married to each other,” Niall said.

“Oohh,” I said, feeling stupid. “So their kids are adopted then?”

“Yeah,” Niall said. “The kids are really cute too.”

“What are their names?” I asked.

“They have a little boy named Carson and a little girl named Aurora,” Niall said.

“Awww, that’s adorable,” I said.

“They can be, but I think I’ve done my job of turning them into troublemakers,” Niall smirked.

“I bet Liam and Zayn love you for that,” I chuckled, turning onto the road that the studio was on.

“Oh yeah, they do,” Niall said. “But sometimes I think that the kids love me more than Zayn and Liam.”

“You might be right,” I said, pulling up to the studio. “We’re here.”

Niall looked out his window at the studio before looking at me. “This is the studio you record at?”

“It doesn’t look like much from the outside but trust me, the inside looks cooler,” I said.

“I’m going to trust you,” Niall said, unbuckling his seatbelt as I turned the Jeep off.

We both got out of the Jeep before Niall followed me into the studio.
