Niall's POV

I sat in the guitar shop with the same, tan, acoustic guitar. Just as I was about to put the guitar away and leave, the door to the guitar shop opened. Looking up, I saw Shawn enter the shop. His eyes locked with mine and he walked towards me.

"Hey, I thought you left," Shawn said.

"No," I said. "I was, uh, actually waiting."

"Waiting? For who?" Shawn asked.

"Uh… you," I said.

"Oh?" Shawn asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah," I said sheepishly.

"I'm glad you waited. I wanted to see you again," Shawn said, sitting next to me.

"You did?" I asked.

"Yeah," Shawn turned to look at me, "you seem pretty cool," he said.

"So, since we're meeting up at noon tomorrow, can we go for lunch at 12:30 or so?" I asked.

"That's actually why I suggested meeting at noon," Shawn said.

"Smart," I said.

"Yeah, I know," Shawn shrugged.

"You're not going to thank me for that amazing compliment?" I asked, pretending to be offended.

"You complimented me?" Shawn asked, clueless.

"I called you smart," I said.

"And that's a compliment how?" Shawn asked.

"What would you consider a compliment then?" I asked, turning to look at him.

"Saying that your electric blue eyes sparkle whenever you smile and you are very handsome are what I consider compliments," Shawn said.

"Those are very specific," I said.

"That's because they are true," Shawn said, making me blush.

"Really?" I asked.

"Yup," Shawn said. "And like I said, those are compliments."

"I guess I should start taking notes then," I laughed.

"I guess you should," Shawn said, laughing along with me.

"So," Shawn said after we were done laughing, "what is this new song going to be about? You know, unless you just want to wait until tomorrow to talk about it."

"I think we should wait until tomorrow," I said.

"Okay," Shawn said, nodding.

"I also think I should head back to my apartment,” I said.

“Oh, okay,” Shawn said.

“I had an amazing time with you today and I’ll see you tomorrow,” I said, standing up and grabbing the acoustic guitar to put it away.

Just after I put the guitar away, I saw Shawn stand up.

“I guess I should head out too,” Shawn said, walking over to me.

“So…,” I said, the moment becoming awkward.

“I’ll see you tomorrow,” Shawn said, patting me on the shoulder with the same awkward pat as before.

It took a lot to just smile and not give him a hug, before I walked out of the guitar shop and back to my apartment.
