Chapter 11: Critical

"Let's get you inside," he told me. "You're shivering," he said and put his arm around me.

I didn't even realize that I was covered in goosebumps because I was so distracted by that wonderful kiss. I nodded slowly and walked inside with him. He led me upstairs, got a towel from the closet and draped it over my shoulders.

Them we walked together in his room and he began rummaging through his drawers. About a minute later, he was handing me a pair of gray sweatpants and a blue t-shirt. I gratefully took them from his hands.

"I thought you'd wanna wear some dry clothes," he stated awkwardly.

I nodded. "It's exactly what I needed."

I quickly ran to the bathroom to get changed as fast as possible. Two minutes later, I was nervously walking back to Trevor's room.

"Why do you look better in my clothes than I do?" he asked with a grin.

I rolled my eyes and laughed gently. "Oh hush."

He merely smiled in return. His smile was so perfect. Trevor's gorgeous smile made me almost completely forget about everything going on in my life. Being around him made everything so much better. All I needed at this moment was Trevor.

He was sitting on his bed and patted the spot right beside him. I gladly took it and gently laid my head on his shoulder. This was all I needed at the moment. All I needed was Trevor's love and support.

I didn't want to think about my mom and Tracy, the baby or Trent. All I wanted to focus on was Trevor and Trevor only.

The next morning we were casually sitting on his porch step with Trevor's arm draped across my shoulders, just enjoying each other's company and the fresh air surrounding us.

"So," Trevor stated out of the blue. "About last night..."

"Yeah?"

"You said you loved me."

I looked down at my feet for a few seconds and then nodded once my eyes looked up to meet his again. "Yeah. And you said it back."

"Well yeah, but where do we stand? Are we back together?"

My eyes met the ground and I shrugged nervously. "I don't know...are we?"

It was his turn to shrug nervously now. "I don't know."

"Well do you want to be back together again?"

He nodded slowly. "Yes, I do. Do you?"

I nodded in response.

"Well then in that case, Delilah, will you be my girlfriend...again?"

My eyes met his and I smiled widely. "Of course I will!" I replied excitedly.

He pulled me into a tight hug and kissed the top of my head. "You don't understand how much I've missed being able to call you my girlfriend!" he exclaimed.

Trevor quickly stood up and held out his hand for me to take. I gladly took it and stood up with him, only to be pulled into yet another hug. This time Trevor lifted me off the ground completely and spun my around like crazy! Loud shrieks immediately escaped my lips.

"Put me down!" I managed to choke out.

He did as he was told and gently put me down, then nervously rubbed the back of his neck. "Sorry! I just got so excited."

I laughed gently. "It's fine, Trevor!"

"We have to go on a date tonight to celebrate!"
