The Moon Goddess's Granddaughter

Chapter IV

A D R I A N

Everyone was here. My whole family, but the most important part of it wasn't here, my princess. Red hot rage coursed through our veins. My sisters-in-law and my mother were trying to console my sobbing mate while my nephews tried to console my sons. I couldn't think straight.

I looked at my mother only to see her face showing a mixture of anger, sadness, a hint of guilt and some unreadable emotion. This made me furrow my eyebrows. But before I could question it my best friend who also happened to be my Beta burst through the doors which made all of our heads turn towards him hopefully.

"What is it, Peter?" I growled impatiently. I didn't mean to sound rude but my wolf was trying to take over since he was furious and that wouldn't end well for anyone. "We picked up a scent of a rouge running towards the north of the territory and then turn east,". "That's my territory" my elder brother James growled. "The women will stay here with the children while the boys and I catch that idiot who took my granddaughter" My dad growled out.

I hugged and kissed my sons and my mate and left but not before I promised to return with our baby girl. I told my Delta to look after the pack and took my Beta and Gamma along with me. All of us shifted into our gigantic wolves before running in the direction of James's pack, Blue Moon. James mind-linked his Beta and told him to catch any rouge passing anywhere near the territory.

The moment we reached James's territory he got mind-linked by his Beta who told him that they caught a rouge who had a little baby in his arms. The moment James mind-linked this to me I pushed my paws and ran faster than before. I stopped in front of the Beta before going behind a tree and shifting back into my human form and putting on some shorts that were lying near the tree, which had been left there for wolves who shift into their human forms.

I moved from behind the tree and looked at the Beta only to see him holding my baby. I growled loudly, my wolf was still very unsettled. I quickly took my pup out of his arms and closed my eyes as I inhaled some of her sweet scent which immediately calmed me and my wolf.

I felt a little soft hand on my cheek which made me open my eyes only to see my princess looking at me with her big moon-like eyes which were filled with innocence, love, and curiosity, which I wished would stay for eternity, as she gave me a toothless smile. I smiled and kissed her cheeks.

My brothers and father did the same which helped in calming their wolves down. I then turned my attention towards the asshole who had taken my daughter from me and immediately growled in anger. I was about to lunge onto him and rip him into pieces for laying his filthy hands on my pup, when my elder brother Dean handed my pup to me to help me calm down, which I did.

I looked up at Dean in confusion. "If you would have killed him we wouldn't have been able to get any information on his intentions," Dean answered calmly. I nodded, he had always been the calmer and more understanding one out of me and my brothers. "Why did you try to take my pup from me mutt?" I growled lowly, not wanting to wake my now sleeping baby up. The rouge shivered in fear before quickly covering it up. "What will I get if I tell you everything?" He had the guts to ask. We all growled, "We'll think about letting you go alive" my elder brother Johnathan answer cryptically.

The rouge foolishly believed this. "The Rouge Alpha wants her, I don't know why but he just wants her for himself". This made all of us except the rouge growl. "He isn't going to touch a single hair on her head" Dad growled out in utter disgust. "Take him to our dungeons," I told my Beta which made him nod his head and take the rouge into his and my Gamma's hands.

"What!? You told me that you would let me live if I told you everything I know!" The rouge yelled in disbelief. Johnathan smirked cynically "I said that we would think about it, we did and this is the decision we made".

Peter punched the rouge roughly in the face which made his body fall limply between the two betas. My wolf and I were still outraged that some mutt wanted to touch our princess, so I held Athena closer to my chest as she snuggled into me which caused a smile to break out across my face.

"He will never be able to even touch her," I told my wolf who calmed down a little bit. We then headed towards my pack with my baby girl safe in my arms.

As soon as we reached home my mate and sons rushed towards me. Soon everyone had surrounded me to look at my little baby who was fast asleep, unaware of any evil in this world. I then explained everything that had taken place to my family. Anger was etched onto everyone's faces.

Suddenly Andrew and Axel started to growl. Everyone was surprised, they hadn't growled before."They won't touch her" Andrew growled out which made everyone agree. "Now, why don't we all head to bed and get some much-needed rest?"Angela suggested after a few minutes.

Everyone agreed and headed to their respective houses but not before telling us to mind-link them if anything happens. After we assured them at least a million times, they left. Angela's and my wolf were still on edge since our pup was taken from us in the middle of the night, so both of us agreed to let Athena sleep in our bed from now on and to let the boys sleep in our bed for the night as our bed was more than enough for the five of us.

Angela led the boys to our room and placed them in between us while I kept Athena close to my chest. I loved the warmth her tiny body gave off and my wolf loved having her this close to us. I kissed my mate before kissing both of my son's foreheads.

I then showered Athena's face with kisses which caused her to giggle and snuggle into me. I smiled and closed my eyes and held my mate and my pups close to me before falling into a dreamless sleep, knowing that I could protect my family at a mere moment's notice.
