Chapter XVIII

After what seemed to be a few minutes Wade finally placed Athena back on the ground. "Can I open my eyes now?" Athena asked impatiently. "Wait, let me remove the blindfold first," Wade said as he gently removed the silk cloth. Athena slowly opened her eyes and gasped loudly as she took her surroundings in. The trees had beautiful fairy lights strung across them. There was a little round table at the center of the clearing with candles leading to and surrounding the table, soft music set the mood. "You did this for me!?" Athena asked with a few tears in her eyes. "Of course, you deserve the world Athie," Wade said as he kissed his mate's forehead.

Wade pulled a chair out for Athena and made sure she was seated comfortably before proceeding to take a seat across from her. Wade placed a plate with a slice of lasagna before his mate who smiled brightly. "How did you know that lasagna was my favorite food?" Athena asked curiously. "Your mother helped me with the food as I set this place up" Wade replied with a soft smile.

"Tell me a little about yourself, " Athena said as she ate the delicious lasagna. "Well there isn't much to say but let's see... My parent's names are Linda and Johnathan Roberts, I have an elder sister and a younger brother whose names are Natasha and Logan and both of them are yet to meet their mates, My favorite colors are red and gray and my favorite food is mashed potatoes with roasted chicken." Wade said as he finished eating his food. "I didn't know you had siblings! and-" Athena started only to be interrupted by her mate. "Ah ah, it's your turn now, we can answer the questions later," Wade said as he changed their empty plates with plates that each had a slice of Serena's famous Mississippi mud pie which made Athena squeal and agree.

"My parent's names are Angela and Adrian Williams, I have two older brothers, Andrew and Axel who have found their mates, an adorable nephew who I love more than life itself. My favorite colors are blue and dark brown and my favorite foods are pizza, lasagna, my grandmother's famous Mississippi mud pie and many more things," Athena said as she had a piece of the pie and moaned happily which made Wade's eyes darken and almost brought his wolf out. "What's your wolf's name?" Athena asked as she blushed when she noticed the effect she had on her mate. Wade's wolf howled loudly when he heard his mate inquiring about him. "Achilles and he is very pleased to hear you inquiring about him," Wade said which caused his wolf to whine a little feeling embarrassed. "That's an amazing name, my wolf's name is Micaela," Athena said as she giggled softly.

"May I have this dance madame?" Wade asked as the song 'Fly Me to the Moon' by Frank Sinatra started. Athena smiled and nodded as she took her mate's hand. Wade twirled Athena around and danced freely before he pulled her in and held her waist as Athena put her hands around his neck. Wade's eyes fell to his mate's lips and he slowly leaned in. Athena saw what her mate was doing and leaned in. Sparks danced across their lips as they shared their first kiss.

"So, how was it, what did you do, we want details," Ashley asked the next morning as Athena came down to eat breakfast. "Wouldn't you like to know," Athena teased as she saw her brothers' mates, her mother, her grandmother, and her mate's cousin whine. "Alright, I'll tell you," Athena said getting tired of their whining. "Oh my Lord that's so romantic and you had your first kiss!" Angela gushed over her daughter once she finished her story. "You did what!?" Adrian, his father, and his sons exclaimed loudly. "Oh don't any of you even start with this, she kissed her mate so what, we all know that you all have done much more than that with your mates," Serena said as she put her hands on her hips and looked at the men sternly who blushed and looked at their feet.

Issac sat next to his aunt's mate and showed him the correct way to play with the trucks. Wade listened attentively to the little pup who excitedly show him his new train set. "C'mon bud it's nap time," said Andrew as he picked his three-year-old up. "But Daddy I'm showing Uncle Wade the wight way to pway with twucks!" exclaimed the young pup which caused his father and his uncle to chuckle softly. "You can show it to me after your nap, I promise I'll be right here" Wade reassured the pup who tried to get out of his father's tight hold. " But I don't wanna sweep!" Issac whined. "Hey whose whining there?" Athena asked loudly as she walked towards her nephew. "Auntie I don't wanna sweep" Issac whined to his aunt who took him into her arms. "Well I'm sorry monkey but you need to sleep, only then will you be strong enough to protect everyone," Athena said as she kissed her nephew's head.

"Weawwy!?" Issac exclaimed as he smiled brightly at the thought of being strong enough to protect his aunt from the bad guys. "Yes really," Athena said as she tapped his little nose. "Otay, I guess I have a nap then," Issac said as he rubbed his eyes sleepily. Andrew took his son from his sister's arms as he mouthed a 'thank you' to her.

"You'll be a great mother one day," Wade said as he looked at his mate with love in his eyes. Athena blushed and hugged her mate. "And you'll be a great father," Athena said as she held her mate close.

Serena walked into the living where her whole family sat watching a film. "There's something I need to tell you all," she said as she held her mate's hand. This made Axel pause the movie as everyone turned their attention to Serena and Simon who looked nervous. "Where are Ryan and Delina?" Simon asked as he looked around the room. "They've gone out for a run" replied Andrew.

Suddenly the bell rang. Angela opened the door only to see her mate's brothers and their families. "What are all of you doing here?" Angela asked as she hugged and greeted everyone. "Mom and Dad mind linked us and told us to come over here saying that it was urgent." Arthur, Adrian's eldest brother replied.

Everyone took a seat after they greeted Wade. "Mom, Dad, What's going on?" Adrian asked once everyone settled down. "You have to promise that you won't hate me after I tell you this and that you won't see me in a different light," Serena said as she looked at Adrian and tried to remain calm. "Well, that depends on what you're going to say," Adrian said as he looked at his parents seriously.

"Just know that I'm sorry," said Serena.
