Chapter 5 - Not gonna lose you

 I'm scared. I'm super scared. It's been a week since I've gotten Jungkook under my care. I was so confident that I can help him. Now... I'm not so sure about it. I'm scared because everything feels so familiar. And familiarity isn't a good thing... because if it's familiar, that means the ending might be the same, a failure. But God, he's so much like Jieun which makes me sweat cold bullets.

When Jieun learned of her boyfriend's infidelity, she didn't tell anyone about it. To help her get distracted, she busied herself with work. When her friends and family checked up on her, she would be nothing but this ray of sunshine telling everyone she's doing great.

And Jungkook is alarmingly going through the same cycle... which is what I'm afraid of. Because, what if I also lose him just like how I lost Jieun?

Jungkook's been locking himself in his studio. He's a sought out music producer with many hit songs under his name. He's actually popular, not just in the music scene, but in almost all Korea. Given their family business that people call from rags to riches story, to his famous circle of friends from different industries, it's hard not to know JK. To some people, JK locking himself in his studio is nothing new, what they don't know is that Jungkook can't write any songs right now. All he does is signing paperwork, checking charts, fixing schedules for meetings and all that office works.

But when he hangout with his friends, he's fakes being okay. There was even a time when his friend Taehyung was looking for Gayoung but all he said was she's busy with promotions that time.

Gosh, this is so frustrating!

"AAAH!" I shout out of frustration.

Jungkook chokes at the noise in his subconscious. Dude if you're hearing me like that then why won't you listen to me?!

Thank God, Joohyun and Chanyeol are not around. Joohyun is watching over the new angels while Chanyeol is out there... somewhere. Well, I'm not his secretary to know where he's going. Not that Chanyeol really has a secretary.

"Can't you just... you know... take a day off or something? You can sleep all day, I won't mind. Just get out of there..." I calmly whisper to him. The thing about us guardian angels is that we can only suggest things to them. Like the good conscience sitting there in the back of their minds. It's still their decision to either do what we tell them. Other than that, we can only talk to them, whisper words of encouragement, let them know that everything is going to be fine.

Most of the souls listens to us, especially when they are in danger. But there are souls out there that DON'T LISTEN AT ALL. YES, I'M LOOKING AT YOU JEON JUNGKOOK.

"JEON JUNGKOOK!" I got startled when somebody frustratedly shouted his name that's not me. I look to who that might be and it's Park Jimin barging into his studio.

"Yes, hyung. What's up?" Jungkook greets as if his friend doesn't look like he's about to go on war.

"Have you seen this?" Jimin takes his phone out and places it in front of Jungkook. It shows an article about Gayoung.

"Han Gayoung, member of girl group IV, and famous music producer JK are reportedly dating for months already. Leaked photo shows them together after IV's tour in Japan back in 2018." it says in the headline. WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?!

"Oh." that's all Jungkook replies. What do you mean oh? It's OH MY GOD.

"I thought she doesn't want to get exposed. Isn't it part of her contract?" Jimin pries. Go get him, Jimin. Maybe he'll open up to you.

"That contract clause I think expired a few years back." he answers back as if it's the most obvious thing in the world.

Jimin has eyes apparently, seeing as it's currently wide open. "It expired but you still sneaked out like a fucking criminal when you go on dates?!"
