Chapter 9

~3 months later~

-Peeta's POV-

It's lunchtime, we're sat at out normal table with out food making general conversation. I get nudged by Finnick then he motions over to the other side of the canteen.

Katniss is sat on Rye's lap as he has his arms around her stomach. Madge is on Gale's lap and Delly is on Thom's lap. Their talking to some seniors and laughing and joking.

I look to Finnick. He shrugs his shoulders.

The bell goes, we stand up and head to class. Maths. Great, Katniss is in there too.

We walk down the corridoor to Maths. We all walk in and take our seats.

Katniss walks in 10 minutes late.

"Where have you been Miss Everdeen? Class started ten minutes ago!" Mr Abernathy exclaims.

"I just walked slow" she shrugs.

"I shall be seeing you after the lesson then" he says.

"'Kay" she says rolling her eyes at him then goes and sits down.

He turns his back to the board and starts writing equations onto it. I see a pen fly across the classroom and hit the teacher. He whips around.

"Who just threw it?" he shouts.

"Peeta did" I hear Katniss say.

"Peeta, a hour after school" he says and turns back around.

I turn around and glare at Katniss, earning a smirk back.

~after the lesson~

I stay sat in my seat while he talks to Katniss outside. After about 5 minutes he comes back in.

~an hour later~

I make my way home. I walk into the bakery and see my oldest brother; Michael at the counter.

"Hey Peet, you seen Rye?" he asks.

"No, hasn't he been home?"

"No, I haven't seen him since this morning"

"Donno, sorry bro"

I help Michael on the counter, me packing while he does the till.

We hear the bell, indicating a customer.

Rye walks in, lips-locked with a girls. Me and Michael look at each other and open our mothes slightly the poke our index finger in there, indicating we're gonna retch.

I cough. Making them break. I then see it's Katniss.

How can Rye do this to me? He knows how I feel about her!
