Chapter 11

~a couple of days later (3 days)~

-Finnick's POV-

We haven't seen Peeta properly in about 4 days. He's been in school, don't get me wrong but we haven't been seeing him at break times. He's been hanging around with the seniors with Katniss.

Why you ask?

I don't have a freaking clue.

We're at my house after school. We're all doing homework without Peeta of course.

We hear little laughs and playful screams coming from outside. I look out my window and to the side because I live next door and see Katniss in her back garden with Gale, Thom, Madge, Delly and Peeta.

Wait Peeta?!

"Guys! Come here! Peeta's over Katniss' house!"

They all jump up and look out of my window and they gasp.

Their all in the pool messing around except Katniss who just sits on the side kicking her feet in the water.

We carry on watching them. After about half an hour the others leave. That's when her uncle comes storming out and grabs her by the wrists.

We all gasp and he shouts and hits her while he pins her up against the wall.

"Oh my god" we all gasp.

He drags her down to the basemant from the doors out the back.

~the next day~

We're in school at our lockers. We see Katniss walk past. She doesn't look her normal self. She has love bites all over her neck and she has a bruised jaw and cheek.

Peeta walks up from behind her and wraps his arms around her waist. She jumps and pulls away from him.

He looks to her confused as her back is facing him. Her arms are folded across her front as she silently cries.

Peeta turns her around and his face turns instantly to anger and sadness.

He tries to talk to her but she won't say anything she just keeps shaking her head.

Gale, Thom, Madge and Delly see and run over. They gasp at the sight of her. Gale looks like he's about to kill something.

~after school~

-Peeta's POV-

Me and Katniss go over mine. Something's up with Katniss and she won't tell me anything, she won't let anyone touch her either. She lets me hold her hand but that's as far as it'll go.

I walk into the bakery holding her hand. My father's on the counter.

"Katniss! What happened?" My father exclaims. How does he know her?

"Hey Mr. Mellark" she smiles weakly.

"Hot chocolate, cheese bun and a triple chocolate muffin?" He asks her.

"Yes please" she nods.

"So what happened? When did it happen?"

"I was uhh play fighting with my sister yesterday" she tries to convince him.

"Then what's on your neck?"

"Those, uhh their bruises"

Rye brings out the hot chocolate while my father gets the cheese bun and muffin.

She walks over.

"Would you like to stay for tea?"

She shakes her head. "I don't want to interfere, plus I should get home"
