Chapter 19
New Year's Kissthis chapter is like three times longer as my usual chapters wow
got some juiciness for ya in this one><><
"Good morning, all!"
Maya joined the others in the living room, refreshed after a long night's rest. She was eager for tonight. "What's for breakfast?"
"It's 5pm, Maya." Brian peered his eyes over the newspaper he was reading.
Maya gave a satisfying stretch as she yawned. "Hm, so it is." She murmured, still half-asleep. Maya tightened her robe as she made her way to the kitchen.
"Since you're more rested, I expect you'll be carousing hard tonight." Freddie beamed excitedly. "I intend for us to really finish '69 with a bang!"
Roger joined Freddie in a high pitched giggle.
"Okay, so." Brian clapped. "We have the decorations all set up. We have music. We just need to drive into town and get our share of drinks. And since Maya, nor Freddie can drive and Roger's not to be trusted in a liquor store unsupervised, I'll get them on the way back from picking up John. Rog, give me the keys."
"I think not." Roger pulled the keys to the van out of Brian's reach.
"Fine, then. You drive."
Roger grimaced as he reluctantly followed Brian out the door, pocketing his keys.

By the time Roger, Brian and John had arrived with the drinks, Freddie and Maya had finished getting dressed up for the party. Freddie could not only fit into her clothes but could also rock them better than she could. Maya didn't mind. She loved dressing him up in her clothes and putting makeup on him. It was as if she had her very own living doll.
Freddie wore a pair of Maya's slacks, which were slightly skin tight on him, but had a flamboyant outward flare at the bottom. He paired this with a shimmery purple top that he only buttoned halfway, wanting to flash a little bit of his chest hair. Maya found herself matching with him. She was feeling a lot more confident tonight, sporting a dark plum skin-tight dress and knee high boots.
This wasn't just any New Years party. This was how they'd be storming into 1970 - a whole new decade. Freddie and Maya were in a place of their lives involving fresh beginnings and were eager to see what was in store for them in the new era. They had a strong feeling that the 70s would have a lot to offer them.
"Just a little bit more." Maya mumbled as she applied another stroke of violet tinted eyeshadow on Freddie's lids. "There! Perfection." She did a chef's kiss when her work was complete.
