I scampered round the school's leisure centre, trying to find a way in. Well, to be honest, it wasn't much of a leisure centre because we had our sports hall somewhere else. The leisure centre was pretty much 80% pool.
I'd pretty much walked circles around the place now, still looking for the way in. I came to a half once I saw Hayden leant against the wall. Well that seemed familiar.
"Struggling, Cheyenne?" He asked, standing up right and beginning to walk over to me.
"No." I fought back, turning my back to leave before my wrist was grabbed and I was pulled into his chest. I looked up at him and he simply smirked down at me. Was he up to something?
He tucked my hair behind my ear with his free hand. Okay, this seemed REALLLYYY familiar. Hayden placed a finger under my chin and tilted my head up. All of a sudden, he started leaning closer and closer, but I couldn't move away. He looked straight into my eyes, straight into my soul. My breath caught in my throat.
"There's an open window round the corner."
Oh.
"Wait, what?!" I freed myself from his grasp and he walked off, chuckling. How could I not have noticed the open window?!
I ran around the side and found the open window. Being the ninja I was, I got in easily. It was the window to the gym. I looked around and found the door out to the hallway, which lead to the pool.
I rushed over to it and tugged on the handle, but of course it didn't open.
"Looking for these?"
I turned to see Kai, stood against the back wall, twirling the keys around his fingers. I stomped over to him and tried to grab the keys, but he held them out of my reach.
"Give me the keys, Kai." I commanded.
"Oooh, look at you being all vicious."
"Kai!"
"You're cute, Chey."
"Don't call me cute in a situation like this!"
"Alright, you can have the keys...just because you're cute."
I smiled shyly at this, before taking the keys. I planted a quick kiss on Kai's cheek before running off.
"Thank you! Love you! Bye!"
On the way out, I noticed something small but completely and utterly adorable. Kai Miller was blushing. Awh, he's cute.
I was now out in the dimmed hallway. Why did this feel like a horror movie?
I looked ahead and saw it. The door leading to the pool. The only thing standing in between me and being on the team. To be honest, this whole thing was pretty stupid. But the team here was very good and I wasn't going to back down from a fight.
I lifted my head up high and excitedly made my way over to the door, only to come face to face with something, or someone, else instead.
"Hunter."
"Cheyenne."
"Get out of my way, Hunter."
I tried to get past him, but he wouldn't let me. I narrowed my eyes up at him and growled.
"No can do, princess."
I took a deep breath and sighed.
"Alright, what do you want, Campbell?"
"Just say the magic words..."
"Chocolate Cake?" He looked at me like I was crazy. Clearly he didn't have the same magic words as a child. He shook his head and smirked at me and I then knew what he meant by 'magic words'. I looked to the ground as I mumbled the answers.
"Hunter Campbell is the hottest boy on the team."
"And?" I looked up and glared at him before gritting my teeth and continuing.
"In the school."
"And?"
"In the world." I spoke, as I couldn't really go much further.
"Hmmm....one last thing..." He murmured and I looked up at him, rolling my eyes.
"What?"
"Confess your love to me."
"WHAT?!"
I was shocked at what he said. No way was I going to do th-
"Tick tock. Oh look, 8:56." He murmured.
What do I do? What do I do?
"Don't make me do this, Hunter." I begged, pouting my lip, hoping he'd take pity on me.
"No can do, princess." He repeated, with a wink.
I took a deep breath and looked to the ground.
"I....love Hunter Campbell."
Hunter grinned and stepped to the side.
"You might want to warm up, the water's pretty cold."
"Oh shut up, Hunter." I pushed him back and stormed into the pool area. I took a sigh of relief before walking over to the deep end. I made my way towards the platform and stood up and it, and to my surprise, all six boys were stood facing me. Will, Logan, Dakota, Hunter, Kai and Hayden. I folded my arms as I looked at them, with slightly narrowed eyes.
"Well, you've gotta admit, she's got guts." Will spoke, and the rest nodded in agreement.
I looked up at the clock opposite. 8:59.
"10, 9, 8..." The boys counted, and I took a deep breath, getting ready for the feeling of the cold water.
"1."
I dived into the water, like a pro may I add. I remained still for a few minutes, soaking up the icy water. I could feel my hair floating around me as it swished past my face a couple times. I stayed down for a couple minutes before floating back up and only just hen realising how cold the water was.
I immediately wiped the water away from my eyes, brushing my hair back.
"Jesus, it's like an eye bath in here!!" I shrieked.
My eyes unblocked to the sound of the boys clapping. I looked up to see most of them either grinning or smirking. Ew, I hate boys.
"Go get her a towel." Hunter commanded, and Dakota scuttled off.
I swam to the metal stairs and made my way out. Yupp, I was dripping wet. Perfect. Once Dakota wrapped a towel around me, I turned towards the boys, a friendly smile on my face.
"How about a group hug?"
The boys' eyes widened but before they could get away, I ran up to them and hugged them. We all just fell into a fit of laughter, and the rest of the team returned to hug. I looked up at all the boys, examining each of their faces.
They were idiots. They were handsome. They were silly.
They were my teammates,
