notes: pregnant reader, for @ElementalistaLux, possibly ooc mori, idk i feel like he'd be a soft husband

mori raised a brow at you as you huffed, stripping from the red mermaid dress. "that's the third dress you've tried, love, at this rate, we're going to be late." you looked at his reflection, frowning.

"easy for you to say. all you have to do is wear a suit," you stroked your bulging stomach, sighing in frustration. "none of my favourite dresses fit anymore."

"you can wear them in a few months," he purred against your shoulder, kissing it affectionately.

"but what am i meant to wear to dinner today?" you pulled out a navy lace dress with a gold belt, holding it against your body. "what about this? it's stretchy enough to go around my stomach." you looked up at your husband.

"you'll look wonderful in everything, dear, but can you at least pick something?"

with another huff, you pulled on the dress, inspecting your reflection. "i look fat—"

"you look wonderful." he pecked your lips, smearing some of your lipstick. you whined in protest, quickly retouching it before the two of you headed out.

the two sat in an amazing restaurant, sitting across some associates of mori's but you weren't listening to the conversation. you felt him stroke your thigh soothingly, keeping you somewhat grounded amongst the business talks. you lifted your gaze to look at him with a soft smile. "when are you due?" the associate's wife asked. you stiffened when all eyes turned to you suddenly. he squeezed your thigh assuringly.

"in a few months," mori answered with a smile.

"do you know what it is?"

"no, it's a surprise!" mori grinned, wrapping his arm around your waist.

the moment the two walked into their car, you both sighed. mori pulled down his tie, running a hand through his hair lazily. "these dinners are so stuffy."

"you were the one who wanted to go." you chuckled as he buried his face in the side of your neck, sighing in annoyance. "how does movie night sound?"

"sounds nice," mori murmured, pulling away from your neck. he pressed his forehead against yours, kissing you chastely. "of course, i get to choose the movie."

"of course, of course."

mori pulled you closer, wrapping the blanket around your bodies, careful to not wake you. the two of you were watching a documentary about war when you had fallen sleep. he was concerned about your sleep; you hadn't been sleeping a lot since your pregnancy, so your sleeping figure was relaxing for him to see. carefully, he picked you up, taking you to bed. you murmured in your sleep, stirring as he tucked you in. "did i wake you?"

"mm, join me." you patted the empty space in your bed, making your husband chuckle as he got into bed with you. "g'night."

"good night, my love."
