it was a strange feeling. it felt warm and cooling, it made you buzz with euphoria and yet grounded you. you didn't know what was going on, but you didn't mind it. it was nice.

you weren't sure if this was normal—you've never felt such warmth before—but for some reason, you didn't mind even if it was abnormal. for once, you were at peace. nothing else quite mattered. lying here with the morning sun beating through the window, the golden rays warming them, it was enough to wash away their anxieties and fears.

you reached out, brushing atsushi's hair out of his sleeping face. the morning sun illuminated his features, giving them a soft glow. your limbs were tangled together in the sheets, his arms loosely wrapped around your body. it was warm, it was gentle. you didn't know how to feel. the boy was so gentle, so sweet, with a smile that subdued all your fears and pain and you only hoped you could have the same effect on him. your fingers danced tentatively down his soft cheek, giggling quietly at his sleepy murmur.

his eyes fluttered open, dazed confusion whirling in the ametrine coloured gaze. "good morning," you whispered, quiet enough to not fully wake your lover from the muted bliss encasing you. he smiled, eyes sleepily focusing on your features, softening with adoration.

"good morning." his voice was groggy with sleep.

"do you want breakfast?" atsushi shook his head, burrowing against your neck. he wanted to stay like this for a few more moments, stay in this blissful morning for a little longer before heading into the chaotic day. there was strange feeling blooming in your chest as you stayed with him, running your hand through his uneven locks. it was nice, it was warm, it was sweet. you wished you could live in this state of being, in this peaceful state of being. "we should get up, we have work."

"we do," he sighed, pulling you closer, "but we can go in a bit."
