Time always had us fooled.

It made us felt like we had a lot in our hands when in fact, we only tugging at the edge with our fingertips. Barely coping to survive and thrive in this malevolent universe, trying to gasp for air in this fast-moving world. Many people succumb to the mere illusion just forget the awful pain that was caused by time but frankly, it never meant to do harm to us. Oddly, time never chooses sides.

Time can be our best friend or our greatest foe.

Yet, for so many people it was the latter.

The loud deafening music slowly fading into my earlobes as we approaching Sam's house near the edge of the city. Her house was not a house to be said but rather a mansion, completely equipped with high brick walls and a breath-catching garden filled with a variety of plants and statues. The front yard is filled with already drunken people with the brilliant red cups in their hands.

Some are grinding, some are entirely wasted by blabbering to themselves. The house itself was huge in size and decorated with sophisticated carvings on the walls. I can only imagine the inside of this house if the outside was gawking already. The flickering lights just add the 'life of the party' effect.

Both of us got out of the car in unison right after it stops in front of the foyer.

"Shall we?"Adam throws his arms around my shoulder, pulling me closer as we climb the stairs and push the giant size door to reveal a bunch of people dancing inside of the house. The music alone could make me have a heart attack because I could literally feel the vibration booms across the room.

Out of the crowd, a pretty blonde girl comes squeezing her way through the crowd and greets us. Everybody knows her as the princess of the art faculty. That title was earned by her astonishing looks and her amazing hands that create many many masterpieces that top several international drawing competition. Also noteworthy, her parents both works as a designer and painter. So, she fits the qualification and nobody has ever overthrown her, well at least not that I've heard of.

"Well hey there handsome, glad you could make it." Sam coos while hugging us in her fragile arms.

"Glad to be here," I reply with a smile tugs on my face.

"Enough chit chat. Let's have some fun." Adam barges in like a knucklehead he has always been and drags us both to the cheering crowd.

"Before anything could happen, gimme your car keys. I know that you'll be drunk in a minute so I'll drive." I stop to a halt.

"What?! NO, I won't give you my keys. I won't get drunk tonight I promise."

"You said that the last time you got drunk. Now, keys human!"

"Fine, whatever you say man." He hands me the keys.

"Here, have a drink." She handed me a plastic cup and offered one to Adam too. I declined politely saying that I need to drive because Adam for sure already gulped his fourth cup by now.

I've had alcoholic beverages in the past but that was a very long long time ago. The burning yet pleasurable sensation helps me to forget about all the things that been bugging my head. I know its a wrong thing to do but that's why people drink, to run from reality for a while.

"Come on, lets dance." Sam offers as she sips her drink.

"I don't dance," I quickly shake my head.

She grabs my hands and pulls me to the dancing crowd while Adam just left behind smiling devilishly at me. Sam starts to do this weird move back and forth, waving her arms and flailing her long hair to the side. I let out a small laugh as she already causing a few heads turn but also pulling several smiles out of the crowd.
