The sound of the thunder crashing above me was furious as if they extricated their anger upon the stupid act of humanity below. The deafening crackling keeps through the atmosphere, keeping me awake from all of the devious thoughts in my head. Flash of lights constantly peeking from the window into my chest for every second.

The hollow feeling inside me was so unbearable. All I see is the darkness that dwells so long in my mind. The disgusting stench that I tried to avoid for many years. The eery voice that keeps whispering thoughts into my ears. The feeling of the cold razor touches my skin.

Tears have no longer flowed across my cheeks as they're tired of all those times crying alone in the middle of the night, remembering all of the things that cannot be undone.

I took a deep breath as I was about to take my own life. The very soul that most people craved and desperately need. But, when he left me, it is almost my heart stops beating, the fire of my soul stop burning as if I was already dead.

Dead from the inside, slowly decaying to my skin and into the very physical of me.

As a drop of blood dripping down onto the cold marble tile below, a thought came flashing into my mind. What did I do to deserve love? What did everyone else do to deserve this? Why did you think that you're the only one who's suffering? Why did you think there's no way out?

I pulled back the sharp metal from my scathed wrist. My guts told me to stood up and ran out of the house. With my bare feet, I could feel the ground was still wet and cold from the rain. The gust of cool wind came swirling onto my face as I ran to an opening where my first love speaks to me. The droplets of the sky flushing all over my face. The very tears of the human mixed with the tears of heaven. I look up at the sky...

and smile.

Elle's POV

His attention was fully on the notebook that I gave him. Even though he's not well, he still insists on doing some of the online homework by himself. It's actually felt good when seeing him like this.

Hopeful.

Rather than last week, he looks totally different from now. He shifted slightly from his previous position from sitting to leaning on the couch. His face scrunches as he does the calculation again and again.

"How are you?" I crouch down as I approaching him.

"Other than this annoying question that I can't solve. I can say that I'm pretty good." He huffs as he put the pencil on the table in surrender.

I take the seat beside him and gently caress his shoulder. "It's better than addicted to an illegal substance that you've craved last week."

He only nods shyly while he had a smile crafted on his face. His gaze raises and met mine. The warm brown hues against the brilliant green emerald.

"How about you?"

"What about me?" I lean on the couch as I tuck some of the loose strands of my hair behind my ear.

"How is the class? Luke?" He widens his eyes to emphasize his point.

"Class is fine. There's assignment here and there, but I'll manage. As for that ignorant kid, he'll be staying on campus until you're good to go." A smile came tugging in my face as soon as those words slip out of my mouth.

Even so, the smile on my face didn't match his. He looks down to the floor as his eyes tell anything but guilt and self-accusation.

He takes a sharp breath before he speaks again.
