Sometimes, the heart sings a different song than the voice is.
Your head ordered you to stop, your heart persuaded you to keep going.
Your consent insisted on saying no, your heart said: "It's okay."
Your mind told you to protect, your heart told you to love.
Just a simple truth, innocent song, peaceful story. To love someone and being loved. Yet, despite all of the sweet perfect and pure bond, many of the hearts were broken into a million shards that hold the unforgiving vengeance onto its lover.
Then, you become someone else. Someone that you don't even recognize. Someone that you wish you wouldn't see again when you're looking at the mirror. All of the emotions, feelings and the unfinished lines got stuck and tangled inside of their eyes.
But, there will be a time where you wouldn't feel all of that every minute. The sadness didn't feel so deep. The anger didn't feel so hard. Your breath didn't feel so shallow. Your heart no longer shattered. The tears no longer flow across your cheek.
That time will come eventually.
********
All of us just standing frozen in our place. Totally shocked by the news. Completely dumbfounded by our new discovery. We're dead silent that I'm sure if a single needle falls to the floor, it's still be heard because we're standing so still and so quiet.
"You, and him... brothers?" I ask as I darts my eyes back and forth between Elle and Luke.
"Yes, he's my stupid brother, "Elle says as she pulls Luke closer to her.
"Why didn't you told us about this?"My stormy grey eyes found Luke's light blue one.
"Why would I? You didn't know her and she didn't know you guys." He walks closer to me. Straighten his spine and folding his arms across his chest to look more confident. Little that do anything as he's much younger than me... hence, shorter.
"Fair point." Adam engages the conversation while nodding.
"Anyway, put all of those aways, please. Lunch's ready." She announces as she walks away to the stove to prepare the food.
"Let's eat first. Then we talk."Luke says calmly. I did not expect that. He's usually more... rowdy.
********
"I have to say, I'm quite surprised." Luke breaks the silence as soon as we're all done devouring the food. He places the wiped napkin on the emptied plate.
Safe to say that Elle is a great cook.
"I can't say that I don't agree." I continue as I lean my back on the chair, turning my head towards Elle for some clarification.
"You owe an explanation!" Both Adam and Luke says at the same time. All eyes were on her. Anxiously waiting for some reasons and backstories how all of this happens.
"Okay. First of all, Adam will be staying with us for a few days for his treatment of amphetamine abuse. For you guys, Luke is my adopted brother. We made him our own around three years ago." She explains with a stern voice, showing confidence and trying to clarify things around. She knew this would happen sooner or later.
"If Adam's staying here, what are you doing here?" Luke asks, pointing his index fingers right at me.
"I'm his best friend. Of course, I'll be here. By the way, why are you so mad at us?"
He kept doing this 'judgy' face and his eyes show nothing other than 'get the hell out of here' looks with a clenched jaw. Look, I know that this is his house but can't we just talk like civilized humans?
