chapter 5- the transfer student

It's not like I was waiting to see her. It's just that I was curious, since she will be the only one in class about whom I would know nothing about. Well I highly doubt if there is anything worth knowing about her, but still.

It was 9 already, classes usually start at 8:30, but since today is the first day, the first period will start late. Our homeroom teacher has still not entered the class, the new student hasn't arrived yet, this probably means the new student joining was a false alarm or she is irresponsible enough to be late  on the first day of school, I already dislike her.

Someone tapped on my shoulder, I turn behind to look and immediately regretted not ignoring it. It was Hanna Walker, her family is one of the most important Allies of my family in business. She has been clinging onto me ever since middle school. I used to completely cold shoulder her until high school, that was when Dad started preaching to me. When I started talking to her, she got this wrong misconception that I was in love with her and that previously I was holding back my 'desire' but now I can no longer suppress my feelings. Seriously how can people come up with any kind of bull shit.

" Reeve, how about we hang out at school cafeteria after school. I have so much to tell you. Do you know, Dad gifted me a limited edition chanel bag to commemorate my first day at school. Isn't it great?" Hanna said flirting with her hair.

Talk about useless stuff, Hanna's conversations never have ever had a head or toe. She just blurts out random stuff, I mean what am I supposed to do with her bag.

" Actually I would love to, but I have got some stuff after school, so I will head straight back to the dorm." I said in my best possible disappointed voice.

"Oh sad, if that's the case I will come to your room." She leaned in and spoke in her flirtatious voice.

Damn this women, can't she get a hint. Chuck it, cafeteria is better. " On second thought, I guess cafeteria sounds good." I said.

I smiled and turned back in front, a few seconds later, our homeroom teacher entered the class. After the class settled down, she began to inform us about a new transfer student, she called out at the door and motioned her to come in. My eyes were fixated at the door.

Then she entered. Her face was red probably with nervousness. She walked slowly towards the teacher and stood next to her. She had long dark hair braided into a plait. Large dark brown eyes, her eyes were exceptionally beautiful and calculating, I could see that she was scanning the whole class.  Except for her eyes there was nothing particularly wow about her. With her outfit itself I could make out that, she isn't the dress up type, tomboy maybe, though her clothes were dull she carried it well. Mrs Malik asked the new girl to introduce herself.

"Hello everyone, I am Amnesty Lee. I just shifted to Tokyo yesterday from the Netherlands, I am of Indian nationality. My interests are in sports and art, I am glad to be a part of your class." She introduced herself in a constant tone.

Her introduction was so scripted, that it felt she was one of the customer service executives, like she has had being saying this exact lines again and again.

Mrs Malik, putting one hand on her back and other hand pointing towards us, welcomed her to the class. That's when she smiled, showing off her two deep dimples located at the center of her cheeks. Her smile surpassed her eyes. However I was getting cold sort of vibes from her.

"Amnesty, hope you get along well with the rest of your classmates. Why don't you take up the seat behind Shane, Shane help her out okay?" Mrs Malik suggested.

Wait. Wait, the seat behind Shane, is the seat next to me. Shit what a pain… I don't want her to sit next to me, I rather have someone who is useful to me sit there. Plus she isn't even hot, which could make up for the loss, plus her teeth looked kind of yellowish.

I guess while all this thought process, I was Making 'what a pain' reaction simultaneously. Which her calculating eyes noticed. Within a second she narrowed her eyes at me, rolled them and then relaxed them immediately, I highly doubt anyone noticed her fast action. Wait a fucking second, how dare she roll her eyes at me, does she have any god damn clue of who I am. Anyways, today is her first day, I might be wrong ( which I never am), I will let her off this one last time, after all I am the last person she should mess with.

During break time, few girls gathered around her for interrogation. I wouldn't have minded eavesdropping, to know where she stands, but these girls surrounding her were constantly moving my desk in the process. This was getting on my nerves and I left the class for a walk.

When I came back she was having a 'smiley' conversation with Shane. It didn't even feel like they had just met, her smile was more real now, more natural now. Throughout the day she didn't once glance at my side, which is a good sign, that means she is aware of who is within her reach.

When the last bell rang, Sara and Adriana I guess approached her, and told her that they would have loved to accompany her on the school tour but they had got some work to do, and that they trust Shane, who is also the class rep, to do the job right. With that the new girl, amnesia or whatever her name is left with Shane.

Out of nowhere, Hanna appeared and asked "ready?"

"Born ready." I cockily replied, and followed her.
