chapter 18- New Ally!

I got his point, but there is a way of explaining things, which clearly Reeve Ray isn't aware of. He humiliated me in front of God knows how many old "not minding their own business" people.

 So first I was just bad at maths, now I am bad at maths plus hungry and angry.

I could feel the tears welling up my eyes as I confronted Ray, I was thinking of how to escape the situation before it's noticeable. Alan senpai showed up out of nowhere, but it's good he did. I got an excuse to leave.

I just took my leave and started walking in a random direction. Obviously I didn't know where I was going, but if turn now I will look like a definite fool. 

I just occupied the nearby beach in the garden. I was trying to figure out what to do next, low key hoping Ray will show up with an apology. I start framing a conversation with him in my head, just to have a head start.

" Great view huh?" 

It was Alan senpai. I really wished that Ray would show up, mainly because I was to hear an apology from him for my own satisfaction, even though I might not forgive him. Anyways he lost his opportunity to earn my forgiveness. 

Reeve Ray, if there is something worse than your attitude then that is my ignoring treatment. I will make sure you fall down on your knees forgiveness.

"Hmm...yes... It's peaceful." I replied, turning towards him.

"Mind joining me for a brunch?" He asked pointing at the restaurant.

"Senpai i'd love to, but I am really not hungry." I explained.

Just then my stomach betrayed me and made a protesting sound.

Alan senpai surely didn't miss it, " your stomach wants to accompany me might as well listen to it." He said looking into me with his pale green dazzling eyes.

Ray's eyes are dangerous, you can't look into them for more than sixty seconds, it's like they can vaporize you any minute. Alan senpai's eyes are equally dangerous, it's just that you can't look away from them, so hypnotizing, so dreamy.

I was so embarrassed as my stomach had acted out on it's own. I accepted his offer.

I am glad alan senpai chose the table which seemed most isolated. Ray was right this place is too crowded. Unwanted chaotic human interaction ... ewww.

I had almost forgotten that Alan senpai wasn't any less when it came to looks. I saw some girls staring at my table. At first I thought it was me  that they were looking at, maybe something was on my face. Then I realized all the eyes where on senpai. Unlike Ray, when a girl approaches senpai to ask his name or whatever. He responded with a very gentle Tone and had a very polite conversation. 

If a girl ever had the guts to do something similar to Ray, Ray would make sure that poor girl suffers from social anxiety disorder for the rest of her life.

"Good afternoon," a waitress came to take our order.

"Sir ma'am, we have a special Sunday brunch prepared if you like you can order our special veg platter, seafood platter or non veg platter. You also have options from à la carte."

Alan senpai raised an eyebrow at me, asking me for my preference.

"Anything is fine with me." I said it in a small voice.

Just then I realized, I had to tell him that I am vegan. What a dork. Now I can't be like anything but nonveg.

"I guess then we will go with two veg platter." He replied to the waitress.

" Got it," she answered back.

"You two are a cute couple." She added and was about to leave when I stopped her. This would be the only time I actually properly spoke after the argument.

"I am sorry but you have got it wrong, he is my senior and is just treating me a meal." I cleared out before it became awkward.

"Oh sorry my apologies." I swear I did see her smirk a little  when she told me that, like she meant of course you can't be his girlfriend.

"Well I haven't been so lucky yet, maybe in future." Alan senpai interrupted, I guess he also saw through that smirk.

She nodded, forced a smile and left.

Under normal circumstances, his would have been super awkward, but I could help but smile. Before I knew it both senpai and I were laughing.

What were we laughing at? Waitress? Us dating? Her expression? Our expression? I don't know.

"So wanna talk about it?" He says as soon as we are done with our all of our laughing.

" I assume you already know his side of the story." I replied.

"Sort of." He nodded.

" Senpai, I know he was right. The way he spoke, I don't know if he was worried or thought of me as a burden." 

" Why would you think that you are a burden?" He asked.

" He had this deal with the basketball coach, that if he trains me for basketball he will get a permanent spot on the team, even though he won't be present for most of the practices. I agreed to this by adding one more condition in which he will have to tutor me." I explained.

Alan senpai seemed to understand the situation, for which I was glad. I didn't want to explain it to him how we came to an agreement on the second part of the deal. 

After few seconds of thinking, he spoke "I can tutor you, if you are fine with it. I mean I may not be as good as Reeve."

"Like that's even possible, you are way better than Ray, I know it without even experiencing it." 

As much as I would hate to admit it, I was comfortable with Ray teaching me, even though it he makes me wake up super early. I mean he had already seen the stupidest version of me, but can't say the same with senpai. He probably thinks I am only somewhat weak in studies.

Despite all of this, I value my self respect above all. I won't need his help if Alan senpai is teaching me. Which is why I say  "If I won't be a bother, then I would like to be in your care from now on." I spoke in the authentic Japanese tone and I bowed my head.

" Woah, you have learnt a lot in these past weeks. Then, I will be happy to help." 

We ate our food and chatted simultaneously. Alan senpai was fun, I learnt a lot of things about him, like he is an otaku like me. What were the odds!

We came back to the campus, he dropped me to my dorm and left.

As I got out of the elevator, I saw Reeve Ray leaning on one of the walls, looking as perfect as ever.

 Was he waiting for me?
