chapter 7 - Ness's first day is too long (part2)

I was so engrossed in my conversation with Shane, that I did not realize when that guy had come back. Biology teacher come in a few minutes later. Mrs Roy announced "Mrs Malik asked me to hand out these ID cards. I am sure you are aware of how important these are. Amnesty please come forward and distribute these amongst their respective owners, it is an opportunity for you to get to know your fellow classmates."

I put on a brave smile, went forward and took the bundle of ID cards. Inside I was terrified, for those of you who have never been a new student, let me tell you that this comes under the top ten worst things that can happen to a new student ( yes, I googled it).

First id card was Adriana's, I was glad that I knew her, therefore it was easy for me to spot and handed it to her. In case I didn't know her, I would have never figured out, based on the picture on her ID card, where she had blown hair tied into a bun (right now she has a pixie cut and dyed hair).

Luckily, I am experienced enough to deal with a situation like this, so I asked Adriana who the next person was. Next person was a guy called Alaric Dossen. I handed him his card, exchanged a few words, asked him who the next person was and moved on to the next person and then the next. It was a chain reaction.

Until the next person was a girl called Hanna Walker, she was sitting behind "that guy". That means she sat diagonally to me, I wonder how did I not notice her, I guess it because "that guy" was consuming all the my attention around my seat, otherwise there would have been no way I won't have noticed her.

She has shoulder length shiny blonde hair, had put on heavy makeup much heavier than Sara, ( now that I have seen my class girls, I have come to a conclusion that, compared to the rest of the girls Sara had barely put any). Hanna's uniform was extremely tight, that made me super uncomfortable, I who prefers baggy tops, she wasn't wearing her tie, and her top three buttons were undone, exposing her mature cleavage. Her breasts were much bigger than an average 16-17 year old girl. Her uniform only enhanced her figure. So much for uniform code.

I couldn't deny the fact that I was nervous, and the fact that "that guy" was just in front of her, didn't help. "Hey, you are Hanna Walker Right? Here is your ID card." I said it in a friendly tone.

" Oh, thanks." She replied taking the ID card from me.

" Nice watch." She continued.

I had a feeling that it wasn't a compliment. Firstly, for people like her G shock watches are garbage, plus it wasn't shiny and fancy, it was boyish, in my defense it's unisex. But insulting my favorite watch, like I was gonna let her off the hook.

"I know right, only some people can pull it off." I said, she smiled sarcastically. I thought it was probably a bad idea to ask her about the next person. When I was about to leave, she held me back pulling my pullover from behind.

I turned and she said "Is that Reeve's ID card, you can give it to me, I will pass it onto him."

Indeed it was a person named, Reeve Ray. "Will that be okay? Here." I handed it, thanked her and left.

The next guy and the final person was Shane Wood, I couldn't express how glad I was.

" Hey, here is your ID card." I said handing him his ID card.

" Thanks, how was your ''experience'' ?" He asked suppressing his laughter.

" You have no idea how much I enjoyed it." I had a bitter expression.

He finally broke into laughter.

I noticed Hanna getting up from her seat, and she came and stood next to " that guy's" seat. I couldn't hear what she was saying. I realized something, now that I think about it, I was so excited that I had completed the job, that I forgot that I haven't come across him yet. That means the ID card I gave Hanna was that guy's. His name is Reeve Ray. Whatever, it's a good thing I didn't have to face that low life.

"What are you looking at?" Shane asked, he turned to the direction I was looking.

" Hanna? Word of advice, try not to get on her bad side." He said nodding.

" Huh, why?" I ask.

" I don't know, it's just an instinct I feel that you will be her Target. To avoid that the best advice I can give you is that say away from Reeve, she thinks of Reeve as something that belongs to her, she has already outcasted so many girls."

" Wow, this is a surprise. I didn't think you will be the kind of person who will give me classroom updates. Also do you have a crystal ball or something, "instincts" ." I laughed so hard I could barely breathe.

Well, I did get his point. She was kind of intimidating, but no worries there no way I would go for a judgemental guy like Reeve.

" Yeah, yeah laugh. By the way, it's not just me the whole school knows about it, don't blame me that I didn't warn you." He pouted. He is cute.

" Alright, Roger that!"

Adriana and Sara showed up, they informed me and Shane that they did have work and that we should follow the plan that Tracy suggested.

Like after half an hour, bell rang for dispersal. Shane suggested, to first visit the cafeteria, have lunch and then proceed for the tour. We left the class. I had to first stop and take my ID card and uniform from the staff room.

The school cafeteria, I don't need to say it how huge, clean, splendid it was. The breakfast, lunch and dinner where included in the fees anything apart from that we have to buy it through our ID card, which we have to recharge.

I got, vegan meal. It had tofu dumplings, Russian salad, fruit juice and caramel pudding. Quick fact, I am very picky with my food, I hate anything related to caramel. Looking at the way I was staring at that pudding, Shane suggested " I really don't like, cheesecakes. If don't mind wanna exchange."

Of course he saved me, if I would have taken one bite of that pudding, I might have puked, I am not exaggerating. As a bonus I was getting blueberry cheesecake, there is nothing better than blueberry cheesecakes.

" Really, you don't like blueberry cheesecake. Are you human?"

" Oh really, I change my mind." he was reaching for the cheesecake.

" okay okay, I am grateful." We laughed together.

" Really, your are vegan." He said it with pity.

" Yes sue me, also as a matter of fact it's the most healthy eating habit." I said in my defense.

The rest of the time at lunch, we debated over the pros and cons of vegan food, apparently as per Shane, I am "missing out" on life.

I told Shane, that if I had to choose a club I would choose basketball. He told that our school girls basketball team, wasn't that great but on the brighter side, Adriana would accompany me. I told him that I would pass on visiting the court right now, as I was tried as hell. He understood, I signed the club form and he said that he would submit it on my behalf.

I was given room no. 1613. It had a small bathroom, one single studio room, with a bed study table, a cupboard. It also had a small modular kitchen at the conner, and a coffee table for two besides it. The room was still simple, wasn't congested just the way I liked it.

It was 4:30 pm right now. I did the unpacking for the next hour. Dinner will be at 7, so I can sleep right now. I set the alarm for 6:30 and slept.
