I always loved the beach . My mom owns the bar right off the coast and always used to take me .

Right here is Sacramento , California . I always walked towards a rock and watched the waves splash up against it . Till one day I seen a purple tail .

I looked back to see my mom making drinks . I would only be a second . I carefully got down onto the next rock . I looked closer into the water and seen a hand . I leaned a little too far and fell in .

I came face to face with a girl with long black hair , she had dark skin, her eyes widened as I swam up , I heard voices as we both looked up , she quickly swam away , I went to grab her tail as I got grabbed out of the water , she hid behind a rock as I got pulled into the air .

I heard a lot of voice as their were 5 people standing over me .

They made sure I was okay and walked me over to my mom . She thanked them and hugged me . She closed the shop early and took me home .

I always remembered that girl , I never forget her , but that was when I 7 , I'm 17 now .

I always go back to the beach hoping I see her . I always dive in that same spot hoping to see something . Anything .

I'd do anything to see that beautiful face again .

I set my shoes down and got ready to dive once more . Here we go again .

I dropped down on the rock as seen the purple tail . It's her . I quickly dove in as she turned to me . I felt my heart beat out my chest as she mirrored my expression .

I swam to the top to get air as she watched me , I beckoned for her to come up as she hesitantly followed , I swam back to the rock as I sat down .

She peeked her eyes above the water as I looked at her . I slowly reached my hand out .

"Hi , it's okay .. I'm not gonna hurt you .." I softly cooed as she hid behind a rock . She crept out as I seen the most beautiful thing I'd ever see .

She didn't have gills or fins like the books say . She had beautiful dark skin with gold and undertones , her jaw line was broad and sharp , her eyes were slim and dark and so full of passion . He black hair curled up into wavy strands of beauty as it flowed down her back and into the water , her plump lips stood off of her face as if they were waiting to be kissed . He pristine fingers held onto the rock as she came from behind it and parted those beautiful lips to speak .

"Me , Yn ." She spoke , she had a thick accent , I'm guessing they didn't speak much English .

"K-Keith .." I said slowly .

"Keith ?" She asked curiously .

"Yes , you speak English ...?"

"Inglés ..?" She asked . Spanish , she speaks Spanish . Great , I finally found the most precious thing of my life , I can't speak her language .

"Me , human .." I said in a slowed manner .

"Human ?" She asked with wide eyes , she became horrified as she backed away from me , I gasped as I rushed up to her , I went to grab her arm as she started crying .

"No no no , please , shh shh shhh , I'm so so sorry ." I tried to hush her as she swam away , in the process the end of her tail smacked my cheek . I held my face as I became sad . As soon as she came , she went .
