Still my day

I woke up with a smile next to my beautiful wife and had one thing on my mind .

Today is gonna be my day .

I showered and brushed my teeth . I put on my suit as Yn cradled my now one year old daughter .

I fixed my tie and grabbed my suit case and umbrella , I kissed my family goodbye and stepped outside to my car .

"Still my day ." I mumbled with a small smile . I quickly got in the car and drove off to work .

I stopped by Starbucks and got myself a coffee . I pulled off with it in my hands as I tried to drink some and hit a speed bump , causing me to spill it all over my pants .

"Okay , still my day ." I reassured myself . I pulled up to the office with this fresh wet stain in the middle of my crotch making it look like I peed on myself .

I sighed as I stepped out of the car and covered it with my brief case . Rain started pouring down as smacked my teeth as my suit became drenched in water .

I quickly got inside of the office as i got weird stares from everyone , I ignored them and walked striaght to my cubicle and got started on paper work .

a few hours later ..

I quickly finished my work and checked my watch as I grabbed my breif case and my blazer and got ready to head out . my asshole of a boss came up to me as I mentally rolled my eyes .

"Oh you're done ? great, now you can do this ." she spoke as she wheeled a cart stacked with papers .

"but-"

"No buts Mr. Powers ." she grinned evily . she was only doing this because I won't cheat on my wife with her , and I never will . I don't care how much work she gives me .

I sighed as I sat back done and started on the paper work . I picked up the phone and quickly called Yn .

"Hello ?"

"Hey babe , um I'm gonna be home a little late , SHE just gave me a lot of shit to do ."

"ok honey , love you . say bye to dada ."

baby noises filled my ear as smiled and repeated to myself "It's still my day .."

A few hours later ..

I've been at this paper work well over 3 hours , it's half past 9 and my child has gotta be in the bed soon . my fingers were cramping from all this damn typing . everyone was gone , except for me and the janitor .

I finished as I sighed and stretched . i grabbed my keys , breif case and blazer . I walked down to my car and tiredly climbed in .

I drove home and parked in the spot next to my wife's car and quickly walked in the house . Quietly I dropped my keys in the bowl by the door , I dropped my breif case and hung my jacket up and walked into the living room .

I poked my head around the side of the living room as I seen Yn and Myla playing on her play mat .

Yn looked up and smiled .

"Look my my , it's daddy !" She squealed , I walked in the living room and scooped up my kid and kissed her cheek .

"Hey mamas ."

"Hey baby . How was your day ?"

I didn't know how to answer that , but I looked at my kid and my wife and finally said .

"Today was my day ."

"Really ?"

"Yeah , I got to come home to you two .. and that always makes my day better ."
