I thought I saw the devil
When you looked at me and spoke;
You said you meant every word you wrote,
And my heart, it kinda broke
I thought I saw the devil
In your wonderfully awkward smile,
You shattered me with your beauty
You left me in a pile.
When I call you the devil
I don't mean that you're bad
All I'm saying is you kill me
Without even knowing you have.
I thought I saw the devil
In your happy, shining eyes
He looked at me and told me that
I shouldn't even try.
I thought I saw the devil
When you began to dance
He told me to want you so badly it hurt
And I didn't stand a chance.
The devil kinda hates me
I can't fight the facts
The thing is you make it worth it
Let's just put it at that.
