Without even realising it hours had passed by in a flurry. He ended up taking me to an arcade. We stumble out of the massive building, a teddy underneath each arm. I suddenly hear a massive crack of thunder and I come to realise it was raining outside. We both run to the car and quickly put our seat belts on. The drive back home was silent, I was drifting in and out of sleep so didn't really have much to say. I hear the engine stop and I stretch a little.
"We home?"
"Well you are home now but I've still got to walk across the road." I look out of the window and violently shake my head. Grabbing his hand, I pull him across the car until his face is close to mine.
"You shall sleep here; I don't want you getting ill." He lets out a little chuckle as I can hardly keep my eyes open. My door opens and arms slide underneath me. Alex was very warm, so I snuggled into him and before I knew it I as fast asleep.
I wake up to birds chirping outside of my window. I throw my pillow at it and suddenly hear an 'ow'. Sitting straight up in bed I see Alex standing shirtless at the window feeding the little birds that were sitting on the window ledge. Sighing I throw myself back under the bed covers and drift back to sleep.
These past couple of weeks have been boring, nothing new has happened really. We had to check in with Matthew the other day, he wanted to make sure that we were settling in okay and none of the neighbours were making any fuss. Much to Jays distaste I did eventually start up my defence classes, I've had George managed the door.
He makes sure that the only people entering are the ones that have booked a class. It makes me feel a lot safer. We told Matthew that George Black knew the whole story and at first, he wanted to move us again but after some reasonable conversations with Jay he saw that it was best for me that he knew.
I've been seeing both Black brothers, and I know what you're going to say but I just haven't made my mind up yet. Its been nice, getting to know both, George reminds me of Xavier a little. Talking of Xavier, I went back to Louisiana the other day, I wanted to make sure everyone was okay. George took me in his car so no one would catch me around the neighbourhood.
As we drove along the road, I got George to pull over and I jumped out of the car. Looking across the road I saw our old house, well what use to be our old house. Someone had completely torched the whole thing. Barely anything of it stood anymore, I put my hands over my mouth as George gets out of the car and pulls me into a hug. He kisses the top of my head and pushes me back inside the car.
As we go to drive past, I tell George to slow down, I see someone kneeling in the grass of the front garden. That when I notice it, the biker jacket. I would never be able to forget that jacket, it belonged to Xavier. We had matching ones. I watched as he lay flowers on the grass and get up, at this point George had nearly stopped so I tell him to kill the engine to avoid anyone noticing us. I watch him as he leans down and kisses a wooden cross, I furrow my brows in confusion until it hits me.
He thinks that we are dead.
I haven't stopped thinking of that day. The sadness in his eyes as he turned around and got on his bike. My door suddenly bursts open and in walks George carrying a tray of breakfast. I turn my attention away and look out the window, the clouds are all dark and the rain has been let loose. Tears fill my eyes as George walks around and stands right in front of me. Completely oblivious to my state he starts to talk.
"I've made you a continental breakfast, considering that Jay has gone out of town for a while I thought I'd stay with you." I wipe my face quickly and look up at him, giving him a small smile, I get up and place a kiss on his cheek.
"It smells amazing, what is the occasion?" he always goes the extra mile when he has got something planned.
"We are going on a date tonight." I stare at him and point to the window, but he shakes his head.
"It will be like nothing you have ever imagined. Plus, I know you love the rain." Damn he knows me too well.
We spend the whole day together, just lounging around and messing around in the kitchen. As I'm wiping down the side of the left-over flour, I feel arms wrap around my waist and George places a kiss on my shoulder. I smile and turn around in his arms.
"You need to go and get ready so I can take you out." I look outside to see the sun starting to shine through the clouds. Wriggling out of his arms, I run upstairs and get change. As I finish applying my mascara, I hear George call from downstairs. I roll my eyes and grab my jacket before sliding down the banister and landing right in front of him.
"You ready?" I smile.
"As ready as I will ever be" I hook my arms in his as he leads me out of the front door, locking it behind us we walk to his car and he opens the door for me. Giggling I slide in and he closes the door behind me. The ride was completely silent; however, it wasn't one of those awkward silences. I felt happy and at peace with this silence. It is different with George than it is Alex. It is hard for me to explain.
The night goes by in a blur and the meal was amazing. We went to one of the most upper-class restaurants there is within this small county, now I understand why it felt like we were driving forever. It was because we were! As the night comes to an end, we finish off our deserts and I lean back in my chair. Fully stuffed. I start to laugh.
"I feel like I'm going to explode!" George watches me, and I see the same look in his eyes as I did with Xavier. He lets out a small chuckle and goes to speak but gets interrupted by a massive crack of thunder. Smiling I quickly grab my jacket and pull George out of his chair, we walk up to the counter and I pull out my card to pay but he just looks at me and tells me to put it away. I try to argue but he wins in the end.
