Have you ever had a moment where something happened so suddenly? That something happened so fast that you don't have time to think about it? You feel hopeless, scared, terrified. This can be something good, but most of the time, it's something bad.
This experience happened to me and to this day, remains one of the most terrifying moments of my life. I wish I could forget about it, but it's a part of me now. A reminder about when I was at my lowest point in life. I've learnt to live with it now, but that doesn't change the fact that at one point, I... I could have died. That day... was the day I lost my leg.

It was the morning during the weekend and, as I would normally do every weekend, I was taking Toothless out for a walk. I know that it's normal for owners to walk their dogs, but I feel like Toothless would get a bit more excited with walking. He was walking ahead of me, even when I was holding onto the leach.
"Toothless, please slow down." I pleaded to him, but he didn't, so I just allowed him since he wasn't pulling it too much that I would fall down. We were coming heading back home from our walk, as well as heading to the park to play fetch. Despite his somewhat chaotic enthusiasm, it definitely helped me take a breather from school.
We were walking down a quiet area in our neighbourhood, an area we'd always walk through. Later, we stopped at a pole so that Toothless could, let's say relieve himself. As I was waiting, with a plastic bag in my hand (hey, having a dog can be dirty business), I started to hear a reeving noise from the distance. I didn't think such about it, so I continued with my business, crouching down to pick up the mess.
Then, the reeving noise got louder. I got up, looking around to see where it was coming through. It shouldn't bother me, but it did. The noise didn't sound right, especially in the quiet neighbourhood. Toothless noticed me looking concerned, so he began to find the source as well.
I slowly walked up to dog bin to throw the mess, still looking around the area. Just when I was about to head back to Toothless and continue our way home, he gave a loud bark. I turned around, finding out what the noise was – the green car driving recklessly through the road. And that car... came right towards us.
"Toothless, run!" I shouted, sprinting up to him and pushing him out of the way to give him a boost. I didn't think. I didn't want him to get hurt, more than he already was. I didn't think about myself. Once I saw he was running, I started to run as well.
But it was too late.
The car hit me. The force pushed me against the wall, hitting my head pretty hard. I tried to get up, but... the car rammed into me and the hood of the car pinned me against the wall. I let out a loud, painful scream as the car got caught on my left leg.
My head had hit the wall so much, my vision became blurry, but I could see the driver get out of the car and ran the other way.
"Help me!" I screeched in pain, but the driver continued to run the other direction. My head was pounding, that I couldn't think straight anymore. It also didn't help that I was in excruciating pain around my leg area. But I couldn't do anything. I couldn't move and...I felt my consciousness slipping away. At that point, I could barely see or hear anything.
I... I was... so scared. I couldn't scream anymore. I could barely say a word. Even though I couldn't hear, I heard the noise of a dog barking.
"Tooth... less." I said, quietly. I felt something nudge against me, knowing it was Toothless due to his winching.
"Are...you...?" I tried to ask if he was OK, but the strength that I had completely went away. But with the minimal sight I could muster, I saw him run across the street, running in the same direction as the driver.
"No... bud." I attempted to push the car away from me, but I was so weak, that I couldn't. I rested my head against the hood of the car. I was breathing heavily, trying to remove my attention away from the pain. Everything slowly turned black. I was so scared. Terrified even.
"I...I don't want...to... " was the last thing I remember saying... before the darkness took over me.
