✯"MOONCHILD, DON'T cry. When moon rise..." Chinsun stopped in front of Yoongi's studio door, halting her singing. She punched in the four digit code. The door beeped, signaling for her to enter. Yoongi sat in his large chair, his monitors illuminating the determined look on his face. She eased into the room silently, letting the door fall closed behind her. Just as he had said, his heating blanket was folded and placed on the end of the couch where she usually fell asleep. "There's food in the fridge," he said, not once taking his eyes off of the song he was currently working on. She tiptoed toward the small fridge and peeled the door open. Cookies, chips, and a bowl of instant noodles with the lid half open were sitting on the shelves, water bottles and cans of coke beneath them.
She snatcher a cookie and a can of coke, closing the door before she crossed back over to the couch. The blanket was already plugged in, though he had left it off. "What are you working on?" she asked, cracking open the tab. Yoongi hummed. He never really listened when he was in producer mode. Sunny tucked her legs underneath her and just stared at the pictures hanging around his walls. Most of them were of him and the boys. Some she had the pleasure of being in, but she didn't care. People always assumed Yoongi was a cold man. He doesn't talk as often as the others and has learned to shelter himself against the media. Sunny was one of the few who got to witness his playful side, where he would joke and expose his gummy smile, his eyes twinkling.
Though he seemed cold, he was probably one of the warmest people Chinsun had the pleasure of meeting. He loved the boys like they were his true family, and in a way, they were. They all were like a small family. They were the kind of family that knew their boundaries; a family that you could choose. "Yoonieee~" Sunny whined as she spread out across his small couch, the heated blanket wrapped around her small frame. Chocolate stained her fingers from the cookie melting within her warm touch. "Yes?" He finally turned to face the girl. His eyebrows rose in questioning. "What are you working on?" She shifted in her seat, tilting her head back to drink from her can. "A new song. Wanna hear?"
She nodded with excitement. He turned back toward his screen and clicked play, letting the music flow through the speakers around his studio. It was soft. The melody reminded her of nighttime lullabies that her mother would always sing them to sleep. She rested her cheek into her palm. A new sense of calm washed over her. Yoongi hummed along, swaying in his seat, letting the music take over him. This was their safe place. If she needed to escape, she knew that she could text Yoongi and meet him back at his studio. The warmth of the blanket and the lulling of the music began to pull her deeper into a dreamlike state. "Sunny?"
She hummed in response as her body began to melt against the cool, leather couch. "What did you think?" Her brown eyes opened to meet his. His eyes sparkled beneath the dim lights of his studio. If she didn't feel like Yoongi was her older brother, she'd admit that he was one of the most beautiful people she'd ever seen. She adored him. She practically worshipped his music when he released Agust D. "It was amazing," she finally responded with a sleepy smile. Yoongi rolled his eyes at the girl, but nodded in thanks. She eased into a more comfortable position and listened to his keys clacking as he typed. "Why are you so tired?" he asked. She finally set her can of Coke onto the table beside her. "What?"
"You're about to fall asleep. Usually when you're on your period, you're running around here like a crackhead." She nuzzled her face into the small throw pillow that had BTS embroidered into it. "I decided to start working out today," she lied. Yoongi snickered. She could tell by the way his shoulders moved. "I'm serious!" she snapped. She shot upright on the couch, a pout on her lips. "Yeah, and I tried out for singing lessons." Chinsun scrunched up her nose at his response. "God knows you need them." She gasped as he whirled his chair in her direction. He grabbed the closest and softest thing to him and chucked it at the girl. "Hey!" she screeched, guarding her face. The stuffed animal, given to him by Chinsun herself, hit her right on her forehead and bounced back down to the ground.
"You literally threatened Jungkook not to ask you to work out with him ever again. I'm not buying this excuse." She crossed her thin arms over her chest. She knew that Yoongi would be the hardest to lie to. They never truly lied to one another before, except when it came to surprise birthday parties and those were normally a bust anyway when they were meant for Yoongi. "It's not an excuse when its the truth. I really did start working out today." His eyes narrowed as he observed her face. He searched for anything that would prove she was lying; nervous sweat, twitching eye, cheek chewing, but discovered nothing. He leaned back into his seat, shrugging his shoulders. "Okay, then. Why don't you ask Jungkook to go with next time?"
"Are you crazy? He would kill me!" she argued. She grabbed that teddy bear and threw it back at Yoongi, hitting him right in his chest. "I just started. He'd literally work me to death. You saw how Jimin reacted his first time with Kook." A grin spread across Yoongi's face as the memory resurfaced in his mind. A soaking wet Park with tired eyes, whining constantly about the pain within his muscles. He looked like a baby being pulled out of a washing machine. "He brought it upon himself." Chinsun rolled her eyes at the male before settling back into the couch. "You're doing this for yourself, right? Not because of those idiots on your instagram?" She sighed. Of course he would bring that up. "It is strictly for myself, Yoonie. I promise. Besides, I don't read them anymore."
Those walls surrounding them in that moment had witnessed the many tear sheds that had broken past her eyes because of hateful comments. They absorbed the broken sobs and angry shouts as Yoongi did his best to comfort her in his own awkward way. "You can't blame me for asking. Not when I'm the one who witnessed what those people did to you..." Her eyes stung as tears began to involuntarily pool behind them. He fiddled with a loose string on his grey sweats before locking eyes with her once more. "You're my best friend and I care about you, stupid." A light laugh slipped past her parted lips. She smiled gently at her best friend, pulling the heated blanket high onto her shoulders. "You worry too much sometimes," she commented with a teasing smirk.
He scoffed at her statement. "Only because you're such a clumsy and sensitive girl." She released a laugh at his response. The two fell into a comfortable silence once again. Sleep was calling her name. His music was calling Yoongi's. The two shared a knowing stare and, finally, Yoongi returned to his monitors while Sunny relaxed into the couch, allowing her mind to wander to dreamland.
