✯SWEAT TRICKLED down the side of Chinsun's face as she finished the very last move of the dance routine. The loud music faded out, revealing the girls' heavy breathing. Jungha looked to have barely broken a sweat while Chinsun, Eunjeong, and Somi were drenched. "Alright, girls. It looks great," the chosen leader of their group exclaimed, clapping her hands as she smiled to everyone in the mirror. She swiped her hair from her face, her skin seeming to glisten beneath the bright lights. "We killed it!" Seokyoung shouted, her voice bouncing off the walls.
Her body ached. She wanted to sit down on the cold floor and cry, but she knew she couldn't. She didn't want them to think that she couldn't handle it. She knew she could, or at least she hoped that she could. "Do you guys want to do it one more time?" Jungha asked, only for Somi to snort. "We've been at it since lunch and it's literally turning dark. Maybe we should head out." Chinsun had never agreed with anything so much that she would put her life on the line. Her shower back at her apartment was calling her name. "I'm starting to stink," Seokyoung commented, cringing the moment she took a whiff of her own armpit. "I'm calling it a day."
"Same here," Sunny yawned, wiping away the sweat droplets on her forehead. Eunnie only hummed in response. She didn't want to admit it, but her body was aching pretty bad too. And she was extremely tired. "Well, we have two more practices. Tomorrow and Sunday. Don't be late." Jungha smiled at the group before nodding her head in dismissal. While the others trudged back to the changing room, she continued on her foot work. Sunny picked up her bright pink towel and threw it over her shoulder, using an end to wipe away the building sweat on her face. "You hungry?" Somi asked her, picking up her water bottle to take a drink. Sunny's nose crinkled. "I think if I eat, I may throw up everywhere," she answered truthfully.
Somi passed the girl her open water bottle with a smirk. Sunny took it gratefully and proceeded to take a large drink. "I've got to learn to bring my own water," she coughed out. Somi only shrugged her shoulders. "I don't mind sharing." The two laughed as they gathered their things to leave. Sunny was dreading the bike ride back home. Her legs were already so stiff, she just knew that pushing those pedals would surely kill her. Once her bag was tossed over her shoulder, she noticed the worried look in Eunjeong's eyes. "Hey!" she called out to the brunette. Eunjeong smiled at the female and paused at the door. "Hey," she replied.
"Do you need a ride home? I bet Somi wouldn't mind." Eunnie shook her head quickly with a slight smile. Her eyes scanned the room before falling on the large clock. "What time is it?" the youngest asked. Chinsun pulled out her phone and showed the girl her screen. The time made her eyes widen. "I've got to run. See you tomorrow!" Before Sunny could stop her, Eunnie ran out the front door. What a strange girl, Sunny thought to herself, causing her to release a string of giggles. She pushed her way out into the cold night air, shivering as it kissed her skin. Without a second thought, she released her curls from her ponytail and let them fall over her shoulders. "Ew, gross," she mumbled, parting her hair to the side.
The bike ride back home, though it made her legs feel as if they would fall off, felt like bliss. The cool air nipping at her reddened cheeks, swirling through her tangled locks, made her feel free. The fact that she's training to become an idol didn't feel like an unreachable dream now. It felt real, and it made her feel like she could reach up and touch the stars. So, she tried. She stopped her bike in front of the front door leading to her apartment complex and stretched her fingers toward the twinkling gems resting in the dark blanket of the sky. If she closed her eyes, it felt like she had succeeded. Anything is possible if you believe.
