Aaron's POV
"Are you sure you want to do this Aaron? Where are you even moving? I don't think we'd be able to do long distance..." Cathy says, obviously sad.
"That's the thing...Cathy, you're a nice girl, really, but, I...don't think we were made for each other." I sigh.
"What...?" She whispered, tears forming in her eyes.
"The red string...I've been seeing it lately...and, the other end doesn't connect to you..." I confessed.
"So you're dumping me just because of a stupid little story children are told so they have hope of a happy ending?! I thought you were better than this Aaron! Soulmates aren't a thing! No one is meant to be together once they're born!" Cathy exclaimed, tears streaming down her face.
"The string isn't the only reason I'm dumping you, Cathy." I growled.
"Huh..?"
"You constantly make me do things I'm not comfortable with and I tell you that I'm not okay doing. You make me hang out with you almost everyday, as if you don't want me hanging out with my friends or having time to myself. Cause you don't! When I want to hang out with a group of friends you make me stay with you and cancel my plans. And when it comes to other girls, you get an unhealthy amount of jealousy, so you prevent me from hanging out with girls, even if they're just friends!"
"Aaron, I-"
"We're done, Cathy. I'm moving away from all this. I'm moving away from you." I state, heading for the door.
"Aaron, please! I can be better! You don't have to do this!" She begged as she grabbed my wrist.
"Fine. I'll stay, only if you answer one question, and there's only a few right answers."
"Anything! Anything to make you stay with me..."
"What made you want to date me?"
She tensed up a bit at that question, but then replied soon after.
"Oh, um, you're smart, you care for others, um, good looking, cause like your abs are like, woah! I-I mean! Uh..."
"Just what I thought." I growled, turning the door knob.
"NO!" Cathy cried, turning my body around and her pushing me to her couch, kissing me.
I push her away, and she's still crying.
"You're making it worse, Cathy. If you ever want to be friends, I don't think I would except due to how you're acting right now." I glared at her.
I went towards the door and opened it.
"If you actually did care about me, you would've respected my choices and accepted the breakup. But I guess you don't. Find me once you've put yourself together. Bye, Cathy."
And with that, I slammed her door closed.
I head to Melissa's car, and get into the seat beside her.
"So...how did she handle it..?" Melissa asked, as I closed the door and put on my seatbelt.
"Terribly..she wouldn't accept it at all. I don't even understand why I started dating her anyway." I sighed.
"Well, you did the right thing, Aaron. Now, are you sure you've packed everything?"
"Yeah, I'm sure. I'm ready to go back." I smiled. "I'm ready to go back to Phoenix Drop."

I stood at the gate with my carry-ons and wave back at her.
