Aphmau's POV

"Aaron...Katelyn..? What are you doing here?" I stood there, wide eyed.

"Well, we-"

"We've been worried about you, Aph! You've been acting weird lately and we all know it's because of that shady job they signed you up for. We eavesdropped on your conversation, you caught us, but we heard things and you can't reverse that. What was he talking about? Why did he fire you? Who was it that someone killed?" Aaron asked straight up.

"AARON!" Katelyn yelled.

"I'll answer that later, but what the hell where you guys doing eavesdropping on our conversation!?" I exclaimed.

"Just saying in advance, I wanted to come here, Katelyn wanted to eavesdrop." Aaron took out a slice of pizza and took a bite.

"He's right, there's no point in trying to hide it." Katelyn sighs.

"I'm sorry Aph. I know this seems like we don't trust you with yourself, but we do. We just would like to know what's going on, it's been a crazy past month for you and it would be better if you just told us." Katelyn apologizes.

"I'll tell you guys later. And thank you for apologizing, but that doesn't mean I'm laying you two off that easy. We'll talk more later, I have an early shift by cleaning up a bit then doing the usual. Meet me at my place in the morning." I sighed, walking away.

Once I reach the door, I look back and see them pulling out of the parking lot, and they both look very upset.

Maybe I hurt them...ugh, Aphmau they were looking out for you! Then you reply back by being ungrateful!?

No! They think you're immature, that you can't take care of yourself. They aren't your friends, they're just people who want to boss you around.

I shake my head at those thoughts, then head back to Jeb's office.

I open the door and see a horrifying sight, making me scream.

Jeb, hung onto the wall with a knife pierced right through his stomach. Then there's words on the wall, written with blood.

"You should've listened to him." It read.

"Well, now it's too late for that." My eyes widen.

Before I could even blink, a sharp pain could be felt right beside my heart. I collapse, and soon enough my eyes gave up.

Aaron's POV

Maybe I shouldn't have done that.

It was a bad idea.

Let me rephrase that;

It was a terrible idea.

I should stop being so nosy, but I can't help it when it comes to Aphmau. She's someone that I really care about, and she's a really great friend.

Pfft, yeah right. "Friend". That's funny Aaron.

I'm brought out of my thoughts when I hear a faint scream, but I didn't think much of it.

"Hey, did you hear that?" Katelyn asked me.

"Hm? The scream? Yeah."

"It seems familiar...eh, I'm probably just thinking things." Katelyn shrugged.

I can hear nothing but the passing cars and my breathing. I lay my head on the seat, and sighed.

"Katelyn, do you think that was a bad idea?"
