The Beginning Of Luke And Nashi Dragneel

Ch 18

~3rd POV~
~Guild~

The next few days were filled with work for the guild, them trying to find as much information on this dark 'ghost guild' who'd kidnapped their beloved celestial mage, and the twin's mother.

"Luke, pass me my notepad, Lu-chan's last known location was at the train station," Levy scribbled her thoughts,"She bought a ticket to.... Runaway Village? That place is supposed to be a myth down at the corner of Magnolia!"

Luke scratched his neck as he passed her the pad, "W-well what a coincidence, Nashi and I-I are from there, heh," he smiled sheepishly, looking away.

"What? It's real?" Levy exclaimed, pulling the young boy by the hand towards the rest of the guild, "Minna, I think I found Lu-chan!"

The twins looked at the brainy bluenette, a bewildered and semi guilty look making its way into their eyes, "R-really?" Nashi stared, stuttering her words..

"Runaway Village was where Lu-chan bought a ticket to, there's also a myth in a book written by Lucy Ashley of a small town hidden where people who want a fresh start go! Nobody knows anyone's background there, if the twins are from there, and it's supposed to be an urban legend, than it seems to be a practical place to do a secret mission!" She cheered,"Reedus, paint me a map of Magnolia please."

Reedus painted a map on his stomach, handing his creation to Levy, "It's said to be just around... Here," She smiled as she marked a point on the paper, handing it to Natsu.

"Alright, let's go save our Lucy!" Natsu cheered, rushing through the guild, at least until Lisanna grabbed his sleeve.

"W-wait, Natsu, we should evaluate a plan with Levy!" The white haired girl pleaded. "And plus, we don't know for sure!"

"A-actually," Levy interrupted, "The twins have seen a few member's faces before, they can ID them through photos and sketches provided through investigations."

As the twins looked through the photographs, Lisanna pulled Natsu to a corner, drawing only a few member's attention.

"Lisanna, what are you doing? I have to go save-"

"Lucy, you always have to save her! What about our relationship? Don't you want us to have a future? Kids like those two?" She whined, gripping his palms.

Natsu's breath hitched.

Did he want kids like them? He hadn't had time to grow close to them, but they made him feel warm, in a way he'd only felt around Igneel, and Lucy. The thought made him shiver, each time he'd become hung up on someone in one way or another, he's swear to himself to never to allow himself to grow attached like that ever again. First, he'd attached himself to Igneel, then Lisanna, and Lucy after that, but now...

He was starting to attach himself to the twins.

"I-I do want kids like them, b-but not with you..." he breathed, admitting it more to himself than her, "Something... It's not right with us, we don't fit."

The blue eyed mage quivered, loosening her grip on him, "W-what? Natsu I'm your girlfriend!" she cried, catching everyone's attention as the guild once again quieted its lighter-than-usual chatter, gasping at the scene in shock, "Don't you l-love me?"

The twins gazed on in anticipation. He could either admit the words they'd been longing to hear, or keep tying himself to fake happiness, feigning grins at his friends. Eyes boring into his head, he could practically hear the answer screaming directly into his mind, and it all seemed so easy.

"I do..." he trailed off, releasing her hand after rubbing his thumb over it, "I do love you Lisanna."

Levy and Mirajane's throats stung, sparing glances at the twins and their heartbroken posture, unaware at what Natsu was going to get at.
