A/N: I'm really sorry for how short the story is, and how long it took to write. Hope you still enjoy the story. Writing the next chapter as we speak! Remember to vote and comment! Thanks again for being awesome and being patient! It's very much appreciated. ;]

Everything about today was horrible. The weather, the way I felt, the lack of sleep, the ache in my body. To top it all off I was sick. Looking out, the windows were foggy, it was freezing out. All I could see was the grey hues of the sky, the dull, muted tones of the sky. It was raining. There was a sudden guilt pulsing through my veins, something that my weak heart could not protect myself from. It hurt.

Everything was ready for Al this morning, I’d finished packing everything at three in the morning. I was downing my second cup of coffee, readying myself for the hard day. We were going to be filming outdoors.

“Oi, cheerup. I made you breakfast.” Kris shoved a plate full of pancakes.

“Thanks Kris.” Smiling up at her, she was too good to me.

“You want some ice-cream as well?” she smirked.

“Naww, you’re too awesome. Yes.”

Kris helped out with Al, giving him pancakes and ice-cream, while I got myself ready for work. Once I’d had a quick shower, put on a very nude makeup and got changed into a simple pair of tights and loose fitting, flowing shirt, we were ready to get going. My frail body was worn and wasted, it felt as though I could break any moment, I mentally prayed that the medicine would kick in, to aid me through the day, an invisible crutch to hold me upright.

Taking a deep breath in, my chest ache. I dropped off Alastair, all the way to his classroom. The pain was somewhat more bearable so I knew that the medicine wasn’t useless. “See you honey. I love you.” I kissed his forehead, “Pinky promise me you’re going to stay safe, have a good day and sleep well?” He wanted so badly to leave me and run off with his friends but stayed back, grabbing hold of my little finger and smiling up at me.

“Love you, see you.” He kissed me on the lips, but I made sure to keep my germs to myself. That made my morning a whole lot better.

It had been four hours exactly since I’d taken my medication when I felt myself weaken, my back hunch forward in pain and my legs wavered.

“Are you alright Dom?” It had been Zach’s kind inviting voice I heard.

“Uh... I... just bear with me.” I walked over to the nearest seat which was the couch in our trailer.

Zach quickly got to his feet, Klarice followed soon after.

“Dom? Why did you come in today if you felt like this?” he said kneeling in front of me, trying to catch a look at my face.

Groaning, I put my hands to my head. “Please. Just let me take my medication.” She pointed over to her bag.

Zach quickly grabbed it and handed it to me, “Go get the medics in here Klarice.” He looked over to her. She manouvered her way around him and set off to find the right people. “Dom, it’ll be okay. Here, take this.” He handed me his drink from the station I had previously been, fixing his hair.

“Thank you.” I replied. I suddenly felt so dehydrated. I always did this to myself, not taking a break. I found the pills in my bag and popped them out of their casing and drank.

The next couple of hours was a bit of a blur, apparently I was sent home and an hour or so later, so was the rest of the cast and crew. It’d been heavily raining and they couldn’t film anything useful. Klarice took over for me with the help of the others. After having a conversation with Kris, I vaguely remember her saying she’d take Al for me until I was doing better. She wouldn’t take ‘no’ for an answer.

I was now at my house, alone. Solemn. The pain still clinging to my body. Managing a quick and hot shower, I was probably looking gaunt, with large dark circles under my eyes. Hunger was battling with the pain, craving my attention. I didn’t know what I would be able to keep down, or how I could possibly have the strength to do that and grab my medicine I was due for. The TV was on a very low volume, I preferred it over my usual music. Without Al in the house, it seemed so quiet and lonely here.

Knock-knock-knock-knock

“Now what?” Groaning, I brought the blanket that covered me along for the ride.

Unlocking the door, I open it to find Tom. His thin jacket soaked thanks to the weather, his hair a mess.

“They just told me what happened. How are you feeling?” He was out of breath.

“Like shit.” I expressed truthfully.

“Can I come in? I brought soup.” He said, a faint smile on his face.

Opening the door a little wider, he walked through shrugging off his wet jacket. “Here, I’ll grab a towel for you.” I started.

“Just tell me where to find it. You rest. Lie back down. I’ll find my way around the kitchen.” He put his hands on my lower back, guiding me toward the couch.

“Uh the –

“Hush.” He put his finger to my lips, sitting me down. “Not a word.”

“But –

“Uh-uh.” He shook his head. Tom smiled down at me.

“I was just going to say....” I paused waiting for him to hush me again. “The towels are in that cabinet over there, the first one in the hallway.”

“Thanks.” His smile was toothy and gorgeous. He was obviously happy that I was finally cooperating.
