Epilogue

It seems like just yesterday I met Jimin in class, trying to flirt with the handsome dancer. After he introduced me to Yoongi, who I thought was a rude prick, it left me wondering how such a sweet boy could be best friends with someone like that.

And then when I figured everything out with Yoongi's personalities, I felt like I finally had a purpose in life. I wanted to help Yoongi. As time went on, I grew to love him and Jimin. They became my best friends.

Eventually, I did help him as I had wanted. His therapy continued for many years, but he moved some time ago. He and Jimin live on the coast now, right on the beach. When I talk to Yoongi, he sounds peaceful. I can always hear the crashing of waves in the background, almost as if he's always looking out at the ocean when we speak on the phone.

Though I have my own life now, married with children, the three of us still get together every now and then for a drink to talk about the old days. They always say how they want to adopt, but haven't moved past getting a dog together.

Now, when I look at Yoongi, I don't see the broken man I saw before. I see someone who is whole. I see someone who is wise because of his pain. I see someone who is content with the bliss his past struggles allow him to have in the present. His eyes shine greater than any star I've ever seen.

He tells me he's happy.

I know he's free.
