"EMMETT CULLEN, IF YOU TOUCH my hair one more time, you are dead meat." Aurora hissed in a threatening voice as she turned around in her seat to glare at the boy who was—quite annoyingly—playing with her dark waves. His golden eyes met her dark ones and he grinned sheepishly as he dropped her hair.

"Sorry, Rory," he apologized, obviously not sorry. "It's just so soft."

"You've been warned." Aurora narrowed her eyes at Emmett before turning around. They were in the library with the rest of their English class, and they were supposed to be researching the Civil War. Aurora had chosen a soft, comfy chair behind a bookshelf to play on her phone in peace when Emmett brought a chair up right behind her and started ruining her quiet. He had been playing with her hair the whole time, and deep down Aurora liked it, but she wasn't going to let on to that.

Well, deep down Aurora liked a lot of things about Emmett, but she definitely wasn't going to tell him that. They were just buddies, and she didn't want to ruin their friendship. It was just the way his eyes lit up when he smiled, and how he always had a rebuttal to her jokes, and how he was so tall and handsome, and how he was loud and funny and just everything she liked or wanted in a man.

Shut up, Aurora. Aurora thought to herself. She couldn't let her thoughts stray like that. She and Emmett were strictly friends, nothing more, nothing less.

"So, I was thinking..." Emmett started after a quiet pause. Aurora tilted her head backwards and looked at him upside down. "You want to come over to my house sometime?"

"Like, to hang out?" Aurora asked, the blood rushing to her head and making her face slowly start to turn red.

Emmett nodded and rubbed the back of his neck as he looked away. "Yeah, the rest of my family would be there, I guess, so it wouldn't be like, just us."

"That's a shame," Aurora said, frowning. Emmett looked back at her and watched as she sat up and turned around to face him. She looked him up and down and met his strong gaze. "I'd rather hang out alone."

Emmett smiled a sly smile. "Oh, yeah?" He asked. Aurora nodded.

"I have a feeling your family might want to stop me from beating your ass up for hours." Aurora smirked.

Emmett laughed, all signs of nervousness gone. "I don't think you'll be able to do much."

"I can still try," Aurora said. Emmett shook his head, a fond smile on his face.

"Would you like to come over after school? Or do you have previous arrangements?" Emmett asked.

"I'm free," Aurora replied. Emmett smiled, and his beautiful dark gold eyes lit up in a way that made her heart stop and start to melt.

"Good," he said. Aurora smiled once more before turning back around in her seat. And when Emmett's cold hands found their way back to her dark hair, she didn't protest.

"Tomorrow sound good?" Caleb asked. The Wolves and Aurora were standing outside of the Trainors' expensive car, talking about going to Port Angeles that weekend.

"Yeah," Liam said. Aurora, Josh and Ethan nodded.

"Sounds like a plan," Kayla decided, smiling happily. The group said their goodbyes and separated, all looking forward to their day tomorrow.

"Rory, over here!" Emmett called. Aurora looked to see Emmett leaning against his large white Jeep, looking extremely handsome. His arms were crossed over his broad chest and he had his signature smirk on his face. God, I could eat him right up, Aurora thought to herself.
