THE LONG SUMMER MONTHS passed by slowly. Aurora spent her time with Emmett, Parker, the Wolves, or at her new job as a hostess at a small restaurant. She tried tanning (it didn't work.) She tried a new diet (it didn't work.) She tried learning ASL (it didn't work.) It was a summer of trying new things and spending time basking in the sun with her glittering boyfriend and doing illegal things with her friends and spending family time with her aunt. It was, overall, a very good summer.

But it was drawing to a close. As in, school was starting up again the next day. And Aurora was trying to make the best of her last day of summer.

Kayla, Kaleb, and Josh had all already left for college. Ethan and Liam both already had plans with their families, so Aurora decided she would hang with the Cullens.

"Emmett," Aurora said to her boyfriend.

"What's up," Emmett said through the phone. Aurora laid sprawled out on her bed, staring up at her ceiling as she spoke.

"Can you please come pick me up? I wanna hang with your family today," Aurora said, watching her ceiling fan spin slowly.

Emmett laughed. "I'm already on my way. Alice knew."

"Okay, cool. We should stop and pick up a coffee from somewhere," Aurora said, glancing at her alarm clock that read 7:42AM. She had no idea why she was awake. In 24 hours she would be at her school. Great.

"Already got some," Emmett laughed. "I'm here."

Aurora leaped off her bed and poked her head out the bay window, seeing Emmett's white jeep roll in. She smiled and waved before hanging up and traipsing down the stairs to the kitchen where Parker was eating a muffin.

"Good morning, Emmett is here. We're gonna hang out today," Aurora said, pulling on her shoes.

"Alright, have fun. Don't do anything bad and be back by like 5, okay?" Parker said, looking up from her phone.

Aurora nodded and hugged Parker before heading to the door. "I love you!"

"Love you too! Have a good day!" Parker called as Aurora shut the door. Aurora walked out to Emmett's jeep, where he was standing and holding the passenger door open for her.

"Good morning, babygirl," Emmett said, leaning down and kissing Aurora's forehead. She smiled up at her boyfriend.

"Morning, dickface," she said cheekily. Emmett punched her shoulder and she laughed as she hopped in his car. He shut the door and walked around the front and hopped behind the wheel.

"One iced mocha frappuccino for you, one cup of nothing for me," Emmett said as he pulled out of the driveway. Aurora looked in the cup holder and her eyes lit up at the iced frappuccino looking up at her.

"Thank you so much!" Aurora exclaimed.

"Anytime. So, where to?" Emmett asked.

"Anywhere! Let's do something fun," Aurora said. Emmett looked over at her with a suggestive look on his face, and Aurora stuck her tongue out. "No!"

Emmett laughed. "Alright, alright. You want to like graffiti something? Steal a road sign? ...Go to the library?"

"No, I don't know what I want yet. Let's go to your house," Aurora suggested.

"Alrighty," Emmett responded. The two continued talking on their drive to his family's home, and they were there in no time thanks to Emmett's exceptionally fast (and reckless) driving.

I swear Emmett's driving will be the death of me, Aurora thought to herself as she shook her head slightly. They rolled into the long driveway and pulled up in front of his house.
