"SO, WHEN'S HE GOING TO make things official?" Rosalie asked Alice. The two female vampires and Aurora were laying on their stomachs in Rosalie's room a few days later, and they had been gossiping and acting like actual teenage girls for the past few hours. It was strange seeing Rosalie act like this, given that she was actually 90 some years old and seemed to hate the world, but Aurora wasn't going to say anything. She'd noticed how Rosalie opened up around her and how she seemed to actually like the human, and she didn't want to ruin their connection. She didn't want Rosalie to think she was like Bella. Yuck.

"Who says he's going to make thing official?" Alice asked, evading the question.

"Yeah, maybe we'll just be buddies," Aurora said, shrugging. Rosalie gave her a look.

"No! You guys would honestly be so cute together," Rosalie whined. "I don't even know why, since you're a human—no offense—but it just works!"

Aurora wasn't offended at the human remark. She had been called a human and not a human so many times recently, it didn't bother her. She both counted as a human and didn't count. Usually, she didn't count. She didn't have a scent and her blood didn't bother the vampires—so long as she wore her necklace—so, in that aspect, she was basically one of them.

"It is perfect, since Emmett can't accidentally hurt you or anything! Awe, you two are just such a power couple," Alice said, swooning.

The vampires and Aurora had recently found out that, while she was wearing her necklace, she couldn't be harmed by the vampires. Their teeth couldn't puncture her skin, they couldn't bruise her or break her bones or cause her any pain at all. And they had tried many, many different ways. All more terrifying than the one before. But nothing had harmed her at all. The necklace masked her irresistible scent and acted like an invisible shield protecting her from vampires. It made one wonder what else it could do— and who had made it so long ago.

"Just tell us!" Rosalie begged, rolling around the floor in frustration. She had been begging Alice to tell when Emmett and Aurora would make it official, but Alice hadn't budged.

"Soon, okay! That's all I'm saying," Alice said with an air of finality.

"How long do we stay together?" Aurora asked curiously. Would she eventually become a vampire? She hadn't put any thought into if she wanted to be changed or not. The thought scared her. She didn't want to leave Parker or her whole human life.

Alice paused a moment, frowning in concentration. "I... I'm actually not entirely sure."

"Forever?" Rosalie asked hopefully. Her big, beautiful eyes were wide, hanging on Alice's every last word. This was the most interesting thing to happen to her in a long time, seeing as her favorite brother may be potentially finding his mate. She didn't seem to care about Edward or Bella and whatever was happening with them.

"I can't tell, I'm getting holes," Alice replied. "We'll find out eventually though, won't we?" She smiled optimistically. Aurora and Rosalie agreed, and the conversation was quickly changed.

What Alice didn't say was that the reason she couldn't see any of Aurora's future at all was because there were wolves everywhere. She couldn't see anything when wolves were involved, and, if Aurora continued on the same path she was on, she would be constantly completely surrounded by wolves. Alice wondered why Aurora would get herself involved so heavily with mutts, and what would happen that would cause her to be taken away from the Cullen coven.

Alice decided to put these thoughts behind her and focus on having fun with her sister and her new friend. She had time to mull over her thoughts later, but for now, she wanted to enjoy the moment.
