ONCE INSIDE, Aurora found her aunt asleep in her room. She wanted to talk to her about her night, and was about to wake her up when she realized her aunt wouldn't believe her at all. She'd still not told Parker about the Cullens being vampires. Aurora sighed and left the dark room, still a little on edge.

Aurora locked all of the doors and turned off all the lights downstairs. She ran up the stairs and into her bathroom, where she turned on the shower. Steam quickly filled the room and Aurora hopped in, trying to wash off all the bad memories of her night. The hot water stung where Austin had used a branch to scratch her, which scared Aurora. She didn't like how vulnerable she had been. She's grown used to be protected by her necklace.

Questions swirled through Aurora's mind as she stepped out of the shower and got ready for bed. She threw on a towel and stepped out of the bathroom and headed towards her bedroom. As she walked through her bedroom door, she flipped on the lightswitch and jumped a good three feet in the air in fright. She clutched her chest and panted, staring at her boyfriend who was sitting on her bed.

"Oh Dios mío, Emmett, que demonios?" Aurora hissed, shutting the door behind her. "Cual es tu problema?"

Emmett quickly stood up and engulfed Aurora in a great big bear hug. She hugged back, sinking into his embrace. She really, really needed a hug right then. And she really, really, really needed one from Emmett.

A moment later Emmett pulled away, leaning down and looking Aurora deep in the eyes. "Baby, please tell me everything that just happened." He said in a serious voice. Concern was laced through his features and Aurora had never seen him look so serious.

Aurora nodded and guided him to her bed. "Wait a moment while I go get changed," she said, gesturing to her towel-clad body. Emmett pursed his lips but gestured for her to go change. Aurora took a tank top and a pair of shorts into her bathroom where she quickly changed. She looked at herself in the mirror, sighing. "Rory, even with no makeup you're a sexy mama," she breathed out to herself. Nodding her head, she left the bathroom and went back to her bedroom, shutting the door quietly. She sat down on her bed next to Emmett, who immediately took both of her hands and started running circles on them with his thumbs.

"I was at a party," Aurora began, and immediately Emmett cursed.

"I should've been there with you," he scowled, obviously mad at himself. He didn't meet Aurora's gaze.

"No, no, it's okay," Aurora said, gently squeezing his cold hands with her warm ones. Emmett looked at her and his face softened.

"Keep going."

"I got pulled aside by this kid, Austin. He took me down to the treeline where it was quiet. I didn't know what he wanted and I kept trying to leave, but he wouldn't let me. He was all flirty, but then all of the sudden he tried attacking me."

"But it didn't work, right?" Emmett asked anxiously, worried golden eyes looking at her neck.

Aurora shook her head. "No. He couldn't bite me, so he tried scratching me with a stick. It worked, and he got my blood that way."

"He actually tasted your blood?" Emmett asked in horror. His brows were pulled together and his eyes were wide. "How much? Are you okay? Did it hurt?"

"He got only a taste, because then he spit it all out. It tasted 'disgusting' to him," Aurora made finger quotations in the air. "It was a little offensive. Then he got mad and said he was just going to kill me. So he grabbed me and took me into the woods, and I called for help but no one heard."

"Aurora, I'm so, so sorry," Emmett said. He had been pulling at his hair anxiously but now grabbed both of Aurora's hands in fervor.

Aurora shook her head. "It's okay." Emmett nodded for her to continue. "Edward found me at the clearing where Austin took me—"
