AURORA DIDN'T KNOW how long she laid there. How long she laid curled in a fetal position. Time was lost to her.

She kept telling herself that Emmett would come back for her; he wouldn't have just left her in the middle of a panic attack. But as the sun started to set, she knew her hopes were futile. She had to get home.

Aurora pulled herself up and looked around the small clearing that Emmett had led her to. She pushed back all her thoughts of what had just happened and focused all of her attention on finding a way back home. Her phone was dead, which prevented her from using a GPS. She had to do this the old fashioned way.

"So, where did you come from?" Aurora asked herself, wiping away her tears and turning in a circle. "It was that way... I think. Yes. Let's go that way."

Aurora squinted as she slowly made her way through the thicket. She had never wished that humans had night vision as much as she did then. Of all nights, it also had to be a new moon. Not that the trees would have let any light through the leaves anyways, or that the clouds would have parted for long enough to let moonlight through.

After a few moments, Aurora was completely lost. "I am fucked," she said out loud to herself, spinning in a circle. It was nearly pitch black out and she didn't have anything to direct herself. She stepped backwards straight into a tree, her head colliding with moss. Moss. Moss grew on the north side of a tree, which meant she was facing north. If she headed west, she would reach the reservation lands. If she headed east, she would reach Forks. If she continued north, she would probably, hopefully, crossing her fingers, end up somewhere near her house.

"You're already lost, you might as well take the risk and try to find your house," Aurora said to herself. She took a deep breath before walking forwards and heading north. "Luck better be on your side, puta."

Aurora only made it a few minutes before she heard twigs snapping from behind her. She froze, looking behind her for the source of the sound. Was it a mountain lion? Or a bear? She didn't know what to do if confronted with a bear. You either had to jump and yell and scream or curl into a ball, but she couldn't remember which.

Aurora breathed out a sigh of relief as she saw Sam step out of the shadows. Shirtless, as per usual. He was carrying a flashlight that cast a large beam over Aurora.

"Aurora? What are you doing out here?" Sam asked, stepping closer to her. He seemed to note her tear stained cheeks and ratty hair as he asked, "Are you alright?"

Aurora laughed dryly. "Yeah, well, my vampire boyfriend just led me out into the middle of the woods to break up with me and tell me he was leaving for good, so, I'd say I'm doing pretty well."

"He just left you out here?" Sam asked, his nostrils flaring. He stared Aurora down, and when she nodded he let out a guttural growl. "Those Cullens have no right to just— "

"Sam, we can talk about this later, can you please just help me get home?" Aurora asked, her anxious eyes looking up at Sam imploringly. He nodded and directed the flashlight beam in the direction Aurora had been heading.

"Your house is less than five minutes that way. You had been going in the right direction. I have to go find Paul, but if you want me to go with you I can."

Aurora opened her mouth to tell Sam he could go when another figure stepped out into the beam of Sam's flashlight. "Paul's right here." The figure said. Aurora looked up at him as he stepped further into the light. He was shirtless, and the shadows enhanced his toned chest. He had a strong six pack, toned pecs and biceps, and tanned skin. His hair was dark and short, his eyes were a dark black, and his eyebrows were creased together as he looked at her. His gaze was locked onto her, his eyes not leaving hers as he stepped next to Sam. He was super attractive. He wasn't a chiseled, Greek-godlike type of attractive like the Cullens, but there was just something about him that was more attractive.
