Shigaraki was utterly still, the muscles of his back tight underneath his shirt. He didn't turn toward her.
Mai cursed herself inwardly.
"Ya know what, never mind. Get out. I feel g—"
But then he turned, and the look in his eyes. The magnetism.
He made a tsk sound, rolling his neck. "Are you doubting your decisions again? I thought we were over this."
I'd give you anything.
Mai rolled her eyes, sucking on her teeth and eyed him with a look she hoped burned.
Shigaraki ran his eyes slowly over her, grimaced and shrugged. "Take your shower. I don't want to waste the day sitting here playing this little game."
Mai didn't have time to even blink before the door was slamming closed. Her mouth hung open as she took a step forward, her brows tight.
Little game?
Mai's nostrils flared as she cursed under her breath, yanking off her tank top. Her entire body was on edge.
Who the fuck does he think he is?
She grit her teeth as she slipped out of her pants. She sat there for a moment, eyes burning into the wooden door. Mai has half a mind to go out there and scream at him.
Little game.
To be fair, Mai had also grown exhausted of this annoying back and forth. Hadn't she said- just yesterday.
Yesterday. She had only been here one day. Mai brought a hand to her underwear mindlessly, grimacing to herself.
Somehow, it felt a lot longer.
Before she could make another move the door was slamming open. "I told you I didn't want to fucking wa—"
Mai, now completely bare, let out a choked noise- her hands flying up to cover to inadequately cover herself. "What the fuck!" She growled.
Shigaraki stopped, his entire body still- his half way in the door.
Mai's eyes widened, her face turning an ugly shade of red. "What the fuck are you doing?"
"Why do you cover yourself?" His voice was deep.
Mai spoke through bared teeth, "You just open the door like that. Who do you think you are?"
Mai blinked and he had slipped inside, leaning against the closed door. "Someone you had just invited to stay in here."
Mai's eyes widened, swallowing the lump in her throat.
Her skin began to itch. He was just looking at her. Every piece of her bare skin that wasn't trying desperately to cover as much as herself as she could. Her skin suddenly felt very warm.
It was somehow more embarrassing. Somehow it made her cheeks flare with flush and eyes wide with terror. He was looking at her.
And she was painfully, painfully aware of herself.
Shigaraki raised his chin, "Ive decided. I actually do want to stay."
Mai's nostrils flared, "Consider that offer is no longer a fucking option."
Shigaraki made a noise somewhere between amusement and annoyance. A tone he often took around her.
"You're still covering yourself. It's really quite funny." He mused.
Mai shook her head. "I just want to take a shower."
"You cover yourself as if I haven't-" and then he moved, faster than her embarrassed eyes could follow. He yanked her arm away, with a grunt- eyes on her chest as he slammed her into the wall behind them. He held her arm above her and leaned closer. His eyes meeting her with a look that she could only explain as predatory.
