China

"I'm so not excited." I said to Cameron in the car. He was still half asleep. It's not easy having to wake up to start getting ready for school at 6:30.

"Mhmmm." he said, his eyes not even open. "Yeah.. me too.."

"Oh come on China" my dad said. "It's the first day, it should be easy."

"Or so they say." I say back to him.

"Try and cheer up hun." my mom joined in. "You'll have Cameron, so it's not all bad now is it?"

"Yea.." I mumbled, looking over at Cameron who fell all the way back asleep. "Wake up!" I slapped him in his chest.

"Chi..." he whined, grabbing my hand and holding it. "Please.."

"Fineeee." I groaned, holding his hand back. "I guess I'll let you sleep this time."

"Great.." he mumbled, dozing back off. I sighed, continuing to hold onto his hand. After a 45 minute car ride, we were finally there.

"Alright." I said, shaking Cam. "Wake up for real." He groaned, of course, not wanting to. "Cameron! Don't make me do it to ya."

"Noooooo." he mumbled, still fighting to be asleep.

"I'm gonna do it." I said, reaching for the door handle because he was leaning on the door. "Ima do it. I promise." He gave me no response, his eyes still closed.

"I tried to warn you." I added. Leaning over him, I opened his door, causing him to slide right out and onto the floor, back first.

"China!" he yelled, quickly getting up. "Ow!" He brushed himself off, quickly fixing his hair.

"Sorry, not sorry." I said to him. "You should of got up when I told you to."

"Alright come on y'all." my dad said.

"I love you two." my mom said to Cameron and I. "Be good. It's the first day."

"I love you too." we both said at the same time, walking off with my dad.

"What do you think middle school is like?" I asked Cameron.

"Gee I don't. It's almost like we've never experienced it before." he said, sarcastically.

"I hate you." I laughed.

"I'm just messing around." he said, smiling "I hope it's as easy as elementary school was. I know we have new material to learn. I just hope I'm not up all night doing homework."

"Yeah, me either." I respond. My dad took us up the stairs into some office.

"Good-morning." my dad said to the lady at the counter. "I'm here to check in China McClain and Cameron Boyce." She smiled at all of us.

"Well aren't they just the cutest." she said, looking over Cameron and I. "Give me 5 minutes and I'll come back with some information." My dad nodded, telling us to take a seat over there, which we did.

"Ya hear that Chi." Cameron said to me. "She's think I'm cute."

"Get over yourself." I said. "She also thinks I'm cute."
