"I'm watching you and your boy." I heard UCLA's head coach say to Cameron as they finished up practice. "You keep working like this into next year and I promise you'll have a spot with us."

"I'm really glad to be hearing this." Cameron said, smiling and shaking his hand.

"There's some other schools throwing your names around too." he said, patting Cameron on the back. "Keep it up."

"I will sir." he said. "Thank you." He walked over to me, all smiles.

"Look at you." I said, pulling him in for a hug.

"No." he said. "Look at you. Beautiful as ever."

"Oh hush." I said, smiling at him, pressing our foreheads together. "I'm so proud of you, Cam."

"Look.." he said, sighing. "I never asked you officially."

"Mhm." I said, biting my lip, already knowing what he was going to ask.

"Will you be my girl?" he asked, staring me in my eyes.

"Naaaah." I said. "I don't really feel like it."

"Stop playing." he said, getting the Spongebob reference.

"Honestly Cameron." I said. "Of course. You wouldn't even have had to ask really. I'm already yours." He pressed his lips against mine, igniting a heated kiss, that abruptly ended due to Taj putting Cameron in a headlock.

"What was he over here saying to you nigga?" he asked.

"Some good shit bro." he said. "I'm afraid to tell you because you've been doing good all 3 years. Always on honor roll and even making the dean's list. Keep grinding T."

"Come on just tell me." Taj said.

"I'm good." Cameron said, shoving T off of him. "Just keep grinding."

"I can't fucking stand yo ass sometimes." Taj said.

"What's with everyone always saying that to me ?" Cameron asked.

"Because you're different." I said.

"Exactly." Taj said. "She gets it."

"If y'all say so." he responded.

"My party is gonna be so fucking dope tomorrow." Taj said.

"I know." I said. "I'm so excited. Let's not get super wasted again."

"Cameron." Taj coughed.

"Like you weren't in the same boat." Cameron said.

"Hey it's about you right now, not me." Taj said, laughing. "But I'll see y'all tomorrow. Love y'all."

"Love you too." we said back. It was cute watching Cameron excitedly tell his dad about what the UCLA head coach told him as we rode back to his place. The way his eyes lit up, his beautiful smile, and everything else, was something unique. Cameron was really a gem. A gem that I am in love with.
