China

Looking over at my clock on my bed-side table, it was about 11AM, when I got up. I yawned, sitting up at the edge of my bed. I was expecting my feet to hit the floor, but it hit a face instead. Looking over before getting all the way up, I was greeted by a peacefully sleeping Cameron. He let out light snores, his chest rising and falling. I giggled to myself, already knowing the reason why he was asleep on the floor in my room.

"Gabe, 1. Cameron, 0." I whispered quietly to myself. I finally slid off my bed, making sure that I didn't step on Cameron's face or body. I went into the bathroom to clean up my face. I decided against brushing my teeth before eating cereal because then the cereal would taste nasty.

"You're up before everyone else." my mom said to me as I walked down the stairs.

"Really?" I asked looking around. I'm usually always the last person to wake up, even when I would sleep over at Cameron's place. "This calls for a celebration."

"You're a mess." my dad said, laughing. "What are you wanting to eat for breakfast today?"

"Well, I'm hoping Cameron gets up soon because we're suppose to be having cereal together." I said.

"How cute." my dad responded. "I wish I had the bond you two have when I was younger. Niggas wasn't shit. You "bro" always bit you in the ass."

"Alright, calm down pops." I said. "You'll be okay."

"It was just so hard.." he said, fake tearing up.

"I cannot stand you." my mom said.

"Morning." Sierra said to everyone as she walked into the kitchen. "What's for breakfast today?"

"Cereal." my mom said.

"You're joking right?" Sierra asked.

"No, China set the tone." my mom said.

"Now wait a dang minute." I said. "I said CAMERON and I were having cereal. I don't care what everyone else eats."

"What cereal are we having?" Cameron asked, yawning, walking up behind me. "Also, good morning everyone."

"Well I want-," I began to say, but Sierra opened her big fat mouth.

"Um." she began. "That's cute and all, but I'd like to not starve this beautiful Saturday morning away."

"There's stuff in the fridge." dad said. "Figure it out."

"Like I was saying." I began. "I want Lucky Charms."

"Lucky Charms it is." Cameron said. Dad took the cereal box down for us. Making our bowls of cereal, we sat on the couch, watching whatever was on.

"The news." I said. "Really Cameron? The news."

"Sometimes you gotta educate yourself on what's going on outside." he said.

"I don't wanna hear about how somebody died today." I say back. "It's extremely depressing."

"I guess you have a point." he says, changing the channel to Disney. Cameron and I finished our bowl of cereal at the same time. He hopped up, offering, well not really offering, to take my bowl from me and carry it to the sink.
