A Deal...

Carrie's jaw hit the floor as she looked at the boy, standing there awkwardly looking at her. He tapped his knife fingers on his side as his other hand rubbed the back of his neck nervously. She didn't know what to do, she'd heard about the so-called "Killer Kids", but also thought they didn't exist. She recalled what to do, remembering the familiar jingle she was taught as a kid.

If You See One, Call 911.

She grabbed her phone out of her pocket slowly, the Krueger backing away from her as she maintained eye contact.

"W-What are you doing?" His voice sounded worried, shaking with fear as Carrie glared at him. She wanted to call 911, but she couldn't get herself to. Mike had probably already told his mom that they'd broken up, so if she was to call, his mom would probably think it was a joke.

"S-Shut up!"

"Look, I-I don't want any trouble." He took a step forward as Carrie took one back.

"You're a Krueger."

"Please, hear me out here!"

"Why should I, you... you... you murderer!"

Carrie watched as the boy's face dropped, tears swelling up in his eyes as he looked at her. Carrie put her phone back in her pocket as the Krueger's lips began to quiver. He turned away from her and sat on the floor, shoving his hand into his mouth hoping Carrie wouldn't hear him cry. She could tell he was upset though.

"Hey, don't cry," Carrie took a step forward, but was hesitant, "I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you cry."

"I-It's fine," the boy's tears rolled down his face as he stared at the wall, "I just... don't like being called that."

"Called what?"

"M...M..."

"Murderer?"

"Yeah," he wiped his eyes, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't be here... I get it, I'm a monster..."

"No, no, you're fine," Carrie reassured the boy as she turned on her small lights and shut the door, "I've just never run into anyone in here before, let alone a-,"

"Please don't say it." Carrie stopped herself as the boy stood up and looked at her.

"Sorry,"

"It's alright, I know that's what you guys know me as, a "Killer Kid". It just... bothers me."

"Why though?"

"Cause... I'm not like my dad..."

"Wait a minute, is that why you haven't killed me?"

The Krueger sighed and nodded his head as Carrie looked at him. He seemed... distant... lonely almost.

He could use some company, she thought.

"Well," Carrie stuck her hand his way, he was shocked by her gesture, "I'm Carrie."

The boy took off his glove, revealing burnt skin like his father's. He smiled as he shook her hand nervously.

"I-I'm Noah,"

"Well, nice to meet you. I could use a new friend right about now."

"F-Friend? I-I've never had a friend before, my dad always said that bonds were meant to be broken."

"Well, your dad also killed 42 people."

"T-True," Noah snickered to himself a bit.

"So, do you live down here?"

"Well, yeah, for right now that is. My dad always seems to find me though and I don't know how long this spot will last me... I might have to move again soon." Carrie saw the disappointment on Noah's face. She could tell he didn't want to leave anymore. She knew that feeling well, moving sporadically like a flea.

"You just keep moving?"

"Constantly,"

"Well, um... I have a place nearby if you want to move in for right now. I'm sure my dad won't mind."

"Really?" Noah looked up at her, "you'll let me stay with you?!"

"Well, as long as you don't kill me or anyone else..."

"It's a deal," Noah shook her hand as he smiled. He was finally going somewhere that would be harder for his dad to detect.

"Now, I just have to get out of here without being seen."

"Well, I have an idea, but you'll be seen for sure."

"Is it good though?"

"Decently."

"Does it involve me killing anyone?"

"No."

"Alright then," Noah looked at her with a smile, "let's hear it."
