Carrie stroked Noah's hair as he slept on her lap, she couldn't believe what had happened in the last few minutes.
"Noah!" Carrie yelled as she ran over to the passed out Noah. Nurses came rushing out of the building to check on him as Carrie felt the anger rise up in her.
"Oh my god, is he okay?"
"Get away from him!" Carrie screamed, the nurses taking a step back.
"I'm so sorry ma'am, is something wrong?"
"Your stupid doctor drugged up my boyfriend!"
"Your boyfriend is a nightmare! He ran out of our custody!"
"Cause your doctor did something to him!"
"Carrie," Wednesday came over to her and scooped Noah up in her arms, "come on. He'll be fine."
Now, they were driving along the road, Noah's wound patched once more by Carrie. There was no way he'd been able to keep challenging all these kids, but there was no way he was giving in to their ideas either.
"Are you okay Carrie, I know this is hard for you." Wednesday paid attention to the road as she drove into another town, getting in a new lane to pull over into a gas station.
"I'm fine," Carrie watched as the Gas N' Go lights lit up the streets, it'd gotten dark now and Noah still hadn't woken up. Her stomach twisted as she looked over at him and brushed her hand through his hair.
"Can you wake him up?" Wednesday parked the car, looking behind her seat to Carrie, holding Noah close to her.
"I can try," Carrie whispered in Noah's ear, "Noah... you need to wake up."
Noah's eyes barely fluttered open. He must've been knocked out pretty good when he stretched his arms before looking up at Carrie. She could tell by his eyes that he was still kind of under the influence.
"Mornin' princess," Noah sat up and kissed Carrie on the cheek, "what time is it?"
Carrie froze as she held her cheek, Noah had never gone this far before. Wednesday couldn't believe it either, but she couldn't judge, Noah was still sort of "on drugs".
"Hey, Noah," Noah turned around to Wednesday, "come on, we're stopping for the bathroom."
"Alright, alright, I gotta empty my tank anyway, it's pretty full."
"Nobody needs to know that," Carrie snapped, "now go inside, use the bathroom and splash some cold water on your face, might help you get some sense back into you."
Everyone piled out of the car, Wednesday not even talking to Carrie about her snappy attitude towards Noah. Noah walked into the bathroom, doing what he had to before going over to the sink and turning on the cold water. He splashed his face with it before looking up in the mirror, seeing the boy looking back at him.
He was awake now for sure.
"Ugh," he groaned, "what happened at the hospital?"
He walked out of the bathroom and out of the building, to the car where Carrie had his glove on fighting a tall boy in the parking lot.
"What the hell?" Noah walked over to the fight, "Robert?"
The boy turned to him with a smile.
"Well well well, I knew she wasn't you Noah. Luckily, I'm good at hiding evide-,"
He was cut off as he fell to the ground, dead in his tracks. Noah took a step back for a moment, still trying to recover from what had happened from earlier before he saw Carrie holding the dripping bloody glove on her hand.
"C-Carrie..."
"Get out of my life."
"Carrie, what did you do?!"
"I told you, Noah, get out of my life." Carrie ripped Noah's glove off and threw it on the concrete as Wednesday walked outside.
"I don't understand, what's going on?"
"I know you like me, Noah!" Noah froze in his tracks.
"C-Carrie, it's not like that."
"It is, you kissed me! I know you have feelings for me."
"I... I kissed you?" Noah held his head, "When did this happen?"
"It doesn't matter, just go survive on your own. I'm sick of your stupid death story."
"CARRIE!" Wednesday shouted, grabbing both of the teens' attention, "GET IN THE CAR, NOAH, GET IN TOO."
"Why does he get to come?" Carrie snapped, "He's a nightmare!"
Noah felt his heart shatter at those words.
"It doesn't matter, both of you, get in the car and come on, we're staying the night in a hotel up the street."
