A Whole New Killing Game!

Chapter 2: Pt 1

Needless to say.....I didn't sleep good last night. 

The events of the day were just too overwhelming, swirling over and over in my head in repeat, like a cycle. Seeing Nagito's corpse, the class trial, and seeing Johannes's execution. Nagito's corpse, class trial, Johannes's execution. Nagito's corpse, class trial, Johannes's execution.....

It just kept spinning, over and over again. And every time, I was filled with a bit more depression. A bit more fear. A bit more despair.

"No matter what happens. You gotta hold onto hope. Even when despair is staring you in the face, keep hold of hope. If you can do that, then anything is possible." 

Those were Nagito's last words. The one promise he wanted me to keep. But....how do you keep a promise like that? How can you hold onto hope after losing two friends in terrible ways? Just....how? 

Before I knew it, the morning bell rang.

"Good morning, ladies and germs. This is your principal, Monokuma, speaking. Giving the official morning announcement before we get things running. Today is a new day full of anticipation and possibilities! So give today your all!" Monokuma said, and the speakers clicked off. I sighed, rubbing at my eyes.

I felt a gentle rub on my shoulder and looked over, seeing Lilac shine a bright smile at me. "Oh, morning Lilac...." I said, yawning as I sat up. I looked over at her, seeing that she was already clean and ready for the day. 

"Got ready so soon?" I said. Lilac nodded. "Okay, well I'm gonna do the same then. Don't leave this room, and don't do anything foolish. Got it?" I said. Lilac nodded. I narrowed my eyes, trying to read past her happy expression, but like always I can never read her emotions. So with a sigh of defeat, I go into the bathroom to get ready. Put on fresh clothes, brush my hair, and brush my teeth, and I'm feeling slightly better then yesterday. When I felt somewhat satisfied with my looks, I stepped out from the bathroom. 

"Okay Lilac, let's get breakfa-" Lilac freezes, looking to me.....as she's standing on the bed, preparing a noose. 

".....Lilac. Where did you even get a rope?" I said. Lilac blinked innocently, looks to the rope, and back at me, giving a small shrug. I sigh, grab her and pull her off the bed.

"Didn't I just say not to try anything foolish? I believe any sort of suicide attempt rests in that category, but it seems I need to remind you of that....again." I said. Lilac only smiled. I rolled my eyes and took down the rope from the ceiling, then tucked it under our bed.

"Come on." I said, grabbing her hand and walking out of the room. Lilac happily follows me as we leave and I close the door behind me.

"Ohio, Violet-san!" I yelp and whirl around, seeing a giggling Magane smirking at me. I let out a sigh of relief before glaring at her.

"Geez, Magane! You scared me half to death!" I stated. "Gomen, just thought that would be funny. And it was, it was! Kehehehe! The look on your face was wonderful!" Magane stated. Lilac gave a small giggle, making Magane raise a brow.

"Oh, and it seems I'm not the only one that found that amusing. Someone has a good sense of humor." she said, patting Lilac's head. I sighed, and the three of us ended up walking to the dining hall together for breakfast. When we got there, the other eleven of us were all accounted for. Rin looked over at us, putting on a smile.

"Hey Violet! Lilac! Good morning!" he said. Despite how tired I felt, I put on a weak smile and gave a wave. 

"Morning Rin." I said. "Come and sit with us. I imagine you must be starving." Rena said. I could feel my stomach growl. She wasn't wrong there, I could certainly eat. The three of us walked to the large table. Magane didn't hesitate to run to Junko and plop beside her, and the two immediately began to chat. To my surprise, Lilac quickly sat beside Kanato, flashing him a smile. Kanato narrowed his eyes in annoyance before looking away, returning to his food.
