All of us were left speechless. We were confused. Was....was this really all the outside world had to offer?
Just....empty space?
"T-This can't be. W-We can't be in s-space. T-There's no way." Crona stuttered. "Yeah, we're in a building! Not a rocket ship! W-What the hell is this?!" Ulric said. "Masaka. Is this really outer space?" Magane said.
"Nu-uh, incorrect answer, little lady," we all whirled around, once again seeing Monokuma appear out of nowhere. He gave a little chuckle, but Ulric just growled at him. "Damn you! What the hell is this bullshit, Monokuma?! This can't really be the outside world, can it?! There's no way we can be in space!" Ulric stated.
"Well, you're correct and incorrect." Monokuma replied. "What? What are you talking about?" Kanato demanded. "You see, this is a type of space. But, it's not outer space. Take notice that there are not any planets or moons." Monokuma replied. I looked back to the window, and my eyes widened. "He's right. There aren't any any planets or moons. Not even any asteroids or meteors. It's just....emptiness." I said.
"Now hold on, maybe the rest of you are blind, but I see stars out there." Kokichi replied. "Wrong again!" Monokuma stated. "What? But then, what are those little glowing lights out there?" Magane replied.
"Those, my friend....are the billions of portals to all different world and dimensions and timelines." Monokuma replied. I gasped. Now the outside world looked so....so different. "The....other dimensions?" Kanato said. "Then that means....these are the different portals you dragged us from. You dragged us from our homes and brought us here?! To this hellhole!" Ulric snapped.
"Ding-ding-ding! We have a winner!" Monokuma stated. "If that's the case, then can't we leave?! We can just hop out of this window and get the hell out of here!" Magane stated.
"Well, technically, you could try. But, there are a few obstacles in that plan." Monokuma stated.
"Oh yeah? Like what?" Kokichi asked. "One, I guarantee you can suffocate out there. It might not be outer space, but it still doesn't have any oxygen. And there aren't any space suits or whatever in this academy." Monokuma replied. "We'll make suits." Ulric said.
"Pufufufu, yeah, go ahead and try. To humor you, let's just pretend for a moment you are actually able to make seven suits that can hold oxygen and are durable. I believe I said there are millions of portals out there. Correction, more like billions. Maybe even trillions. Or even....whatever comes after trillions. Out of all those worlds, how in the world could you ever find out which ones are your homes?"
Monokuma was right. About it all. How in the world could we ever discover which portals led us to our homes. And how could we even get there without any suits? It's impossible. "You got us here, you somehow brought us here! You should know perfectly well which ones lead us to home!" Ulric stated.
"Ha, yeah right! I like I'd know! And even if I did, no way I'd tell ya. And if you tried to force it out of me, I can just delete my memory core before you can find out anything." Monokuma stated.
"Then how did you get us here?! Where even are we if we're not in one of these worlds?!" Ulric snapped. He clenched his fists, and gave a fierce death glare to the robotic bear. I was worried he was gonna attempt to attack him. "Yeesh, take a chill pill, bud. But, I'll answer one of those questions. We are in what I like to call the In Between. The space dimension that links all the other world entrances. Course, literally no one has been able to get here....except for me. And how I got here, well, that's my little secret to keep~" Monokuma explained.
