A Whole New Killing Game!

Chapter 2: Pt 4

I gasped, slowly backing away as my hands rose to cover my mouth. 

"N-No.....not again...."

"Violet, what's wrong, what is- GAAAAH!" Rin cried out, letting out a small scream after seeing the body before us. Mello rushed to my other side, eyes widening. "What the hell?! Dammit, not again!" he snapped. 

"I-I don't believe it. S-Someone else is d-dead? I....I-I can't deal with this...." Crona muttered, turning to face away from the body as his skin grew more pale. Magane looked over with curious eyes, giving a small whistle.

"My my, he certainly isn't getting up any time soon." she said. "Who even is it? The body's so black I can barely even tell its a dude." Junko said. I turned my head away, still in shock. 

"Shouldn't that obvious? Look around this room. Who's the only one that isn't here?" Amaimon said. I didn't look around though. I didn't want to, nor did I need to. I knew who that was, laying over the burnt wood. I recognized the bandages that still lingered on his arms and face.

It was definitely Zack.

Zack....was dead.

There was a sudden dinging sound that rang out in the academy, making us all perk up. "Attention everyone! A body has been discovered! Everyone make your way to the garden on the second floor. Wait....never mind. Everyone is here already," Monokuma said over the speaker, "in that case, you should know what to do. Investigation, then trial time! Better get to it! I'm starting the clock right now!" With that said, the speaker turned off, and were left alone.

Alone to solve another case. Alone....to find the next murderer among us.

"We...we really have to go through this again?" Rena said, looking away sadly. "Rena, we don't have a choice. If we don't find the murderer, we'll all get killed, and they'll get away with killing Zack. You don't want that, do you?" Ulric said. 

"Of course I don't!" Rena stated. "Come now. Is it even a question as to who killed Zack?" Kanato stated. That made everyone look at him, giving him confused expressions. "Kanato, what are you talking about?" Mello asked. Kanato narrowed his eyes, slowly lifting his teddy bear higher and snuggling into it slightly.

"Isn't it obvious? Zack was burned alive by blue flames. Tell me, who did we discover yesterday that someone here is the very spawn of Satan....?" he said. He slowly moved his glare towards Rin, who's eyes widened. 

"W-Wait, hold on! You don't seriously think that I killed him, do you?! That's ridiculous!" he stated. 

"Didn't you two get into a fight yesterday? I mean you obviously got angry enough to cause those flames of those to burst. Tell me, were you angry enough to want some sort of revenge? Hmm?" Kokichi asked, humming slightly as he began to advance towards the demon boy.

"What? No! We didn't get into a fight! I mean....Zack did make me a bit mad, and yeah, my I lost control of my flames for one moment. But, I swear I didn't kill him! I'd never kill someone out of cold blood!" Rin stated. He had his fists clenched tightly, and seemed more than nervous. Why....was he acting so nervous?

"Huh, I dunno. You seem pretty suspicious to me. Doesn't anyone else agree?" Kokichi purred. 

"Well, you do seem a little suspicious." Magane said. "Agreed. He has the eyes of a killer." Junko stated.

"Like either of you are one to talk!" Rin snapped. "Uh oh, someone is getting aggressive! Keep your distance, the son of Satan might hurt someone else." Kokichi said. Rin's eyes widened as everyone eyed him suspiciously. The only ones that didn't look at him in fear or suspicion was me, Lilac, and Near.
