Chapter 10: We're So Basic
"Spill," Jenn said as soon as we sat down.
"Wellllllllll, Cameron asked me to wear his jersey at the football game!!"
"REALLY?!?!? ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?! OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GODDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"I AM SERIOUS!!!!" I squealed.
"I FREAKING SHIP IT!!"
"You ship me with any boy I talk about!" I laughed.
"I DONT CARE!! I. FREAKING. SHIP. IT."
We went on talking about stupid random stuff like chameleons and spaghetti tacos throughout most of lunch.
Near the end of lunch, Cameron suddenly walked up and sat across from me, and he laughed, "Want to walk around together at recess?"
"If only," I sighed and laughed at the same time.
"I'd absolutely loooove for recess to be a thing in high school," Jenn said sadly, reminiscing on our past experiences at recess. "Remember when we attempted to do parkour on top of the monkey bars, in elementary school, and you almost sprained your ankle!"
"Omg yes! Remember when we would run along the snow mounds in 5th grade and sing that one Wizard of Oz song!" I said back excitedly.
We proceeded to sing the song, then went back to our conversation.
"Remember in 6th grade when we made our song for 4 square, which was about the people who were in spots A and B," Jenn smirked.
"Yeahhhhh buddy," I said in a sly voice.
Cameron just watched, extremely amused at our way of bringing back memories, until..."Wait...wasn't I usually in spot A during 4 square in 6th grade?"
Jenn and I slowly turned our heads to look at each other and we burst out laughing.
He just sighed and said, with a smile, "I'll see you guys later. Maybe then you won't be talking about when you used to make fun of me."
I attempted to laugh a reply, but I failed miserably, so I just waved. Jenn ended up doing the same thing.
We left lunch in a frenzy of laughter, and headed out to our next class; literacy! Literacy is my favorite subject, and I have the best teacher you could have for it! Once again, I'm pretty frikin lucky sometimes.
We did the usual things:
• Write a 2 page story about a subject chosen by our teacher; Mrs. Quachely
• Read the next chapter of the current class book
• Take notes about the chapter
• Work on current class project
Today the subject for our writing was romance. I decided to make a story about a girl who was moving across the country to a completely new place. At that new place, things start off a little rough, but in time she falls in place with the rest. She becomes comfortable, and then everything changes, because of one boy. I thought it would make a good story.
The book we have to read is Hamlet, by Shakespeare. Yep, we're so basic. I took some notes. I basically wrote the easiest notes to make ever, but worded it to make it sound smart, so I could get out of doing intense notes today.
Our current class project is actually a writing project, where we have to write a cute little children's book. The catch is, we have to find out a way to get it into a hard cover version. We also have to add pictures and stuff. Basically it's an art, literacy, and problem solving project.
Once literacy was over, Jenn and I, we walked to our last class of the day. It was...gym class. At least it's last and not first, am I right?
After we jogged half heartedly with footballs in our hands around baseball diamonds for half an hour, class ended and we were set free. Jenn and I went our desperate ways for the day, and I set off on my walk home.
