They reach around the corridor, and something is running down, towards the reactor!
Captain Chen:
After him!
The fat creature runs screaming, and the crew follow. Then, reaching the end of the corridor, by the door of the cargo holder and reactor room. It was trapped. Snorting and yelling like a pig, it hides itself in a corner, afraid. It covers itself by the time the others arrive to investigate. The crew of the ship immediately point their guns at the monster.
Identify yourself! I am Captain Chen of this spacecraft, and you will answer my questions! Why did you kill my crew? ANSWER!
There is no reply. The Doctor steps in, at the front.
Doctor:
A Stethesor!
Dale:
A what, Doctor?
Doctor:
A creature from the planet Stark.
Captain Chen:
Very original names, aren't they Doctor!
Dale:
He must have wondered in when we were fueling up!
Captain Chen:
I'm not having that monster on my ship!
Doctor:
No, Captain. It's quite alright. It's a vegetarian.
Carefully, the Doctor approaches, lowering his level down to the Stethesor's.
Nyssa:
Be careful, Doctor.
The Time Lord takes his celery and waves it at the creature. It looks at him. The fear in its yellow eyes, blinking softly at him. The creature had a blue pig head to it with horns alongside its fat nose, and its fat body taking up a lot of space. Chunky arms, chunky legs, long, dirty nails, with a small loaf of hair on its head, fat, rhino-like feet and a scaly, bloated blue body quivering. Staring at the Doctor reassured, it looks at the celery, then the Doctor's eyes again.
Doctor:
I'm sorry. We are going to get you back home.
It follows the celery, as the Doctor rises, it too rises, comfortable around him. ZAP! The Stethesor roars in agony before dropping dead from an orange laser ray killing the creature with a huge thump! The Doctor turns, furious at the Captain!
Doctor:
What did you do that for? It was scared!
Captain Chen:
Like I said, I'm not having that monster on my ship! It had already killed two of us and almost killed all of us a moment ago.
Doctor:
Only because it was scared! Just because something is different to you doesn't mean you have to kill it! It didn't understand! What gave you the right to kill another creature simply because it was different and scared?
Captain Chen:
The safety of my crew, Doctor. Now, that has all been settled with, I think we should return to the control deck. Dale, as the reactor may have been damaged, I think it is best for you to check it out. Even though, it should be Dennis' turn. Come along, boy.
Smug, the Captain leaves. Dennis following along like on a lead. Bridget also leaves, without another word. The Doctor stares down shamefully and angrily down at the body, as Nyssa comforts him.
Nyssa:
I'm sorry, Doctor.
Doctor:
So am I, Nyssa. I sometimes wonder why I tolerate the human race. Their funny little brains only lead to the mass slaughtering of countless innocent lives out of fear, greed and insecurity. If only I could have got it back to Stark.
Nyssa:
We should go Doctor. Please!
The Doctor looks at her, they then both decide to leave in the end.
We will collect Tegan and go back to the TARDIS and forget everything about this.
We are left with the body, Dale still looks down over it, regrettably.
