It was the girl from the bar! I was stunned, why was she in Oliver's house. I knew it, the way he looked at her wasn't right. "Hi, is Oliver home," I said, trying to look past her. "Yeah, why?" She said, blowing her gum then popping it. "I have to talk to him," I said, getting a little aggravated. She looked at me up and down, then rolled her eyes. "Oliver, you bitch get down here," She yelled nonchalant. "What? I'm busy," He yelled back. "Get your ass down here," She said, looking at her nails. "No," He yelled. She looked at me, annoyed. "What's your name?" she said, leaning on the door. "Jessica?" I said questioningly. "Your girlfriend Jessica is here," She said, putting some chapstick on. "Okay, I'm coming," He said, rushing down the stairs. "I'm not his girlfriend," I said, glaring at her, but she rolled her eyes. She looked at me, "What are you then?" She said, sounding annoyed by this conversation. "Not his girlfriend," I said, ready for this to be over.
She seemed really ticked off. Oliver came down the stairs and looked at me like she was crazy. He came to me, and we walked out onto the porch. "Hey Jessica, what's up?" he said, sitting on the ledge. "I found something at my house, and I wanted to talk about it," I said, taking out the paper. "Okay," He said, looking at the paper in my hand. "I found this list, and it has a bunch of girls' names, including mine, on there. I don't know where it came from. Is it yours?" I said, handing him the paper. He looked at the paper in silence. I couldn't read his expression. He finally looked at me, "I've never seen this before. You don't think I would hurt you, right?" He said, really concerned. "Of course, I don't think that," I said, trying to hide my relief. He got up and hugged me. I pushed him back, "So, what's her name?" I asked, talking about the girl. "Who, Casey?" He said, raising an eyebrow. "Yeah, how long have you two been...." I said before he cut me off. "Whoa, No, that's my sister, I would never," He said in disgust. "But we saw her at the bar, why didn't you say that then?" I said, trying to make sense of this. "I wasn't sure. I haven't seen her in years. Her hair used to be blonde, so it confused me," He said kind of apologizing. "Oh, sorry," I said, rubbing my arms. "It's fine, I should've told you," he said, smiling. I walked off the porch, but Oliver rushed over in front of me. "Hey, do you want me to get rid of that for you," He said, pointing at the list. "Uh, sure here," I said, handing him the list. He kissed my cheek then went back into his house.
After I gave it to him, I went to my house. I sat on the couch when I got inside. At least I know he's actually single. I can't believe that I'm falling for him more each time we are together. I was deep in my thoughts when there was a knock on the door. I went to answer it. When I opened the door, it was Casey. "Hey," She said with a smug smile. "Hi Casey," I said, rolling my eyes at her. "I wanted to tell you that I think you are good for him, and that, I'm his sister," She said, smacking her teeth. "He told me," I said, looking down. Also wondering if he told her we were dating. "Of course he did," She said, rolling her eyes. "What is that supposed to mean?" I said, glaring at her. "Look, sometimes he can be a jackass, but he's a good guy at the end of the day," She said like it was funny. "Okay, thanks," I said, not getting her joke. "Okay, bye," She said, leaving.
I closed the door and began to think about the list again. Wasn't Casey's name on it? Who would have a thing for her and me? Out of nowhere, my phone started ringing, making me jump up. I picked up my phone and answered it before checking who it was. "Hello," I said, looking to see who it was. "Hey, Jessica," Oliver said happily into the phone. "Hey, Oliver," I said, probably just as happy as him. It's like all my worry was gone when I talked to him. "So, what are you doing?" He asked, sounding as if he was moving around a lot. "Nothing, you?" I asked, looking out the window. "Nothing, helping my sister pack her stuff into her car," He said, waving at me when he saw me in the window. "Oh, okay," I said, trying to ask if I was a distraction. "I'll call you back in a few," He said, hanging up.
I put my phone back on the table and looked out of the window again. I saw Oliver trying to fix some thing under the hood of her car. She was yelling something, making him clearly angry. He shut the car hood in frustration. He helped pack the last things in her vehicle. He waved goodbye then went into the house. I was zoned out while watching her drive away. Deep in thought about the list again.
