Ethan was wondering why his host wanted to become a hero in the first place. Was it money? Power? Fame? Well it wouldn’t hurt to ask him right?
Ethan: ‘Hey, what made you want to become a hero in the first place?’
Midoriya: “Why are you asking me this? Weren’t you with me my whole life? You should know.”
Ethan: ‘Why do you think you never heard from me until recently? I was stuck in a...stagnant state lets call it. After infecting you, it took me a long time to regain consciousness. I don’t necessarily know why, but it did. All I remember of my time in that state were like dreams. Small snippets of your life and experiences and they weren’t even in chronological order as far as I remember.’
Midoriya: “...”
Ethan: ‘Well you’re gonna tell me or what?’
Midoriya: “Well, I want to be a hero to show that even people with so called villainous quirks can still be heroes. No one should let their quirk and peers dictate their lives. And I want to be a symbol of hope. To show people that even in the darkest times, us heroes will be here to help them. If I had never met my sister, I wouldn’t be where I am now. And I want to repay that debt by helping others like us...is that a good enough answer for you?”
Ethan: ‘...’
Ethan: ’This just makes me think that you were definitely worthy of One for All. You have a good heart, kid. You’re nothing like me...and I’m glad that you aren’t.’
He sounded happy yet there was a hint of regret in his voice. Almost like, he was scorning himself.
Midoriya: “Mind showing me more of your past?”
Ethan: ‘Uh..sure kid. Here you go.’
Midoriya’s mind was flooded with foreign memories. Pariah and Elizabeth Greene were captured by Blackwatch after they had “contained” the outbreak at Hope, Idaho. By contained, it meant nuked. The whole city was destroyed. In its place, radiation aplenty and ashes of its former residents. Since Greene’s body was compatible with Redlight, Blackwatch continued experimenting on her with different strains of the virus. Almost everyday Pariah could hear his mother screaming in agony while the Blackwatch scientists experimented on her and pumping her full of god knows what.
She eventually went crazy. She seemed detached from the world. Pariah was kept in solitary confinement. Alone. From everyone. He could still hear the voices of the guards though. Whispers of someone...someone just like Pariah...and they called him, Mercer...
The memories get cut off again. Midoriya was hoping for more. He wanted to know who this "Mercer" is.
Ethan: ‘That’s all you get for now.’
*that night*
Izuku told Ahmya everything about what happened at his first day at school and how he got first place in the quirk apprehension test, but leaving out the All Might part. Ahmya was feeling so proud of her little brother that she hugged him tight enough to suffocate him and all the while, her wings were fluttering on their own. She was wearing her usual toothy grin.
Ahmya: “Ok so tonight, treat. On me ok?"
Deku: “But why? It isn’t anything special...”
Ahmya: “Oh shush. I have every right to spoil my brother!”
Deku: “Fine. Treat’s on you, if you don't suffocate me to death first.”
Ahmya let go with a not so sincere “sorry”.
Ahmya: “Oh by the way, I also climbed the ranks again yay! I'm now the #76th hero! Also I've been wondering, how did Cinderella’s glass heels not break and get shards stuck in her feet because of how heavy she is. I mean, glass wasn't that tough back then bro. Also, how did the prince forget what she looked like? He had to put the heel on EVERY girl in the kingdom! Yeesh he’s dumb don’t ya think?”
She does things like this a lot. Even against villains. You know, just to piss them off more. Her defence is that “it's fun”.
